  1. Plastic guards work well, I’ve used them on my series of Shercos and they’ve served their purpose very well …….
  2. Yep...can't agree more, horrible weather, great run round and thanks to every observer standing in the horizontal rain......Steve the foot

    08 Beta Stator

It 's worth taking the stator plastic cover off after each trial.......I've done this with the Beta's I've had and every time ....cover comes off and water is present......not by the gallon, however more than enough ! Never had a hassle with the 06 nor 07 Might be the fix for you... All this aside, it would be good for the factory to get to grips with this. After all, if the stator fails and you've just bought the bike, can it be said to be fit for purpose...? Despite the stator being changed free of charge...!
  4. Hi folks, I'm told that the coolant can erode the magnesium casing ( something to do with the amount of Mag in the casting ).....commonly about the water impeller cover. It tends to degrade the inner aspect of the channel of the seal and doesn't allow the cover to seal and sit correctly. Also from a recent conversation, it can degrade the water impeller bearing seat this can perforate, and allow coolant to wash around the clutch etc..... I also understand that those who need to know....know. Although I haven't heard what remedy is planned ( hopefully something definitive is in the pipeline). Interestingly, the price if the outer clutch casing has been significantly reduced ....!

    08 Beta Plug

BETA stick the colder running BR7ES cos they build the bikes in a warmer ( italy ) country.... You can fit a BR5ES or BPR5ES which runs at a higher temp, however in our colder counrty....works well. Check it out with your local dealer to make sure tho...
  6. Read the above with interest .....to my mind you always: Give respect to anyone who has stood to observe ... Often with some humour..... Often week after week...... ......you don't give any of these good folk a hard time !
  7. Could be...you need some additional shock absorbing in your boots. I've a combo of a full length silicone insole plus a 2/3 rd insole ( from the heel to just behind the forefoot) with an anti pronatory ( thats to support a flat foot in plain speak ! ) element in mine and have no after ache....plus a few of the North East centre lads have them also......seems to work ok...
  8. Hi folks, I've just bought this year's Beta 200 ( about 5 weeks back ) and would enthusiatically agree it is a great bit of kit. Time to do what you want...! The previous bikes have been GasGas 300's or whatever incarnation and would now agree I've over biked.... On the resale comments....why the problem ...? Everyone seems to agree they are great bikes...however there seems to be an issue on paying the money... Is this poor publicity....or what ?

  15. We've had GAR for a couple of years and the toe-end of one of the soles flapped off within a couple of months requiring a visit to the local cobblers.....I've also used HEBO and they appear fairly durable ( well the last pair lasted for 4 years of regular competition)
