no filter oil it is for next trial, hopefull I should have the new plug in place I'll let you know how it fairs. dougie, you could all try one of those "deely bopers" you see kids wearing at blackpool instead of fairy lights, but I don't think trials bike shops sell them.

Yes, that was me, section ten last lap and it gave up the ghost, the plug was knackered. Gutted, It's been chokeing up something rotten. Gonna try one of those platinum plugs to see if it makes a difference. I played around with the mixture settings and got no improvement. I rode at Huddersfield last week, I did ok, came 17th. I had to keep cleening it out by reving it before each section. I'm putting on the minimum amount of filter oil on the air filter too. Leigh

Hi, where abouts is the hillsborough trial on sunday your on about. I'll be travelling from Rochdale if you reckon it's worth going to. Is it suitable for novice level? Directions would be handy too. I normally ride at some of the Yorkshire clubs but as there is a team trial on this weekend there's nothing really on. I don't really fancy going up to Cowm quarry if I can help it, even tho it's a good place to practice, there's nothing like riding sections to improve your riding skill. many thanks Leigh
  8. another great trial. Tho I made a real gash job of section 2 first time round, broke my front mudguard by chucking the bike at a tree!!! There wasn't much that was too naughty and i think everyone said they had a good time.
  9. here's a link to a map Clicky here I hope this helps cheers Leigh
  10. me too! Went for a practice, kicked it over it ran for about half a second before it kicked back the starter and stalled.Would not start at all after that. Checked every thing bar getting flywheel off(no tool with me)swapped plugs etc. When I pulled the flywheel cover off I noticed condensation on the inside surface. So it's possible it's shorted out somewhere. I will be stripping the bike down this week to find the fault. It's an 04 2.9 sherco too.
  11. You could ask the local University Archaeology dept to come and dig "Test" pits etc to look for stuff and say you'll fill them in after. Well maybe a year or so later perhaps. or say the land needs "better drainage" and you're digging test drains or you plant half an acre of fruit trees etc and leave some piles of old tree stumps as well etc I'm sure you can be creative
  12. I recently stripped down the rear linkage. They were pretty much seized up. I soaked the dog bones in petrol for about half an hour. Then slowly started to work the barings free. Resoaking when needed. Once they were reasonably free to move i blasted must of the gunk out using wd40 and cleaned with a rag. Once the barings spun freely, I packed them in grease and reinstalled to the bike. Make sure that all the bolts and washers are clean, greased and replaced in the correct position. Now the backend is lively again. Ok not as good replacing with new but worth the effort. There are .pdf instructions on the sherco web site. click here -> sherco maintainence choose -> Sherco Setup and Lubrication Guide adobe acrobat will be needed to view
  13. Just checked with Phil from club. 3 routes Easy route, a 50/50 route and a hard route. So all abilities should be able to compete.
  14. not guilty ma'lud. Tho Grimethorp was fun. First water section I have ever ridden. Got to fix my mudguard for sunday!
  15. Hi everyone. Say hi to probably the heaviest trials rider in the country lol. I got myself one of these trials bike things, due to my mate badgering to get one . And ride it instead of my road bike through the winter. Best decision I've made in years .I must say it don't half knacker you out riding one. Anyway roll on the next trial. Tho I must learn to stop chucking the bike all over the place, otherwise it's gonna become an expensive hobby. TTFN Leigh
  16. Hi, My mate and I will be riding on the 29th too. This will be my second trial, my first was the fun trial in december. Great fun. Look out for two big chaps with sherco 2.9's. Leigh and Lee!!! Can't wait cheers Leigh

  18. I find that mine is difficult to start. Try starting in neutral and give it a good kick, usually works for me.
