    SWM Shocks

I have a set of OZO shocks on my SWM TL320. They aren’t leaking oil but are very springy/bouncy. They have shrader valves can i fill them with air? If so how much? I know you’re supposed to fill with nitrogen but I have a trials this weekend and no way to get that done right now. But the air would be temporary. Thanks
  2. Looking at getting a 93 Aprilia 280R Climber. Are there any flywheel weights available or will I need to machine something? How is the parts availability? I had a 92 and liked it a lot!

    Finding SWMs

Thanks, sounds like a great deal! I have had four SWMs since I posted this. The one I have now is a keeper! Been competing on it for about 6 seasons now. Great bikes!
  5. I know the TX311 and TXR heads have a head stay (bracket mounts the head to the frame) for helping vibration.

    TX311/TXR312

My TXR engine and shock are done. Ended up boring the cylinder for 76.25mm piston.
  7. I use HFS suspension for the fork springs. They are really nice! Just make sure you give them all the information on your forks and old springs. https://suspensionhfs.com/en/
  8. I take the plastic plugs out of the clutch cover and tip the bike in a pan to drain oil. Works well for me.
  9. What brand is the hydraulic clutch? I have a TL320, run 60:1 Amsoil Dominator, 80wt Bel Ray Gearsaver (Maxima is good too), I use OZO shocks with heavy springs.

    TX311/TXR312

Looks like your air boot mounts perfect with the Climber airbox! I would really like more information on this modification. Thanks

    TX311/TXR312

Nice TX311! Do you have any closer pictures of your climber airbox? What did you use for an air boot? My original is no good. How do you get to the air filter/top of air box? The sub frame is in the way on mine. Thanks

    TX311/TXR312

My air boot is in bad shape. At the Tryals Shop we tried several airbox/air boots and nothing came close to working. There is a guy on facebook that reproduces them but is out of stock. I wish I could make my own.

    TX311/TXR312

My TXR312 is still in progress. I’ve found all the parts for the engine. Wanted to do something different for the air filter, with no luck. Climber airbox is a lot different and won’t fit. Need to find the stock air filter. Need to find a shift lever too.
  15. I use Belray 80wt Gearsaver, works great and have been using it for about 5 years in my 1980 SWM TL320. I had a small leak at shifter/Kickstarter shaft and doubled the O rings. Haven’t had a leak in a couple of years now!

Made some progress on the TXR312.

    TX311/TXR312

Anyone have the Aprillia TX/TXR air boot/air filter remade? Can a climber airbox/filter be made to fit? Or anything else be made to work? My boot is bad and filter is almost gone.

    TX311/TXR312

I recently picked up a TX311 frame, exhaust, rear suspension etc. I just bought a TXR312 last night in need of a lot of work. What are the differences between the two models (besides rear brake and shock)? The frames look similar except for extra tabs on the 312 for shock, extra mount on mid muffler. On my 312 the shock is leaking oil, bearings are bad. Has wrong muffler. The 311 swingarm, shock, suspension bearings, frame, exhaust are all good. Thanks
  19. I had a Montesa 349 that I mounted the condenser on the frame under the tank to keep it cooler. On my SWM I used a timing box I made to set points. I have since switched the ignition to electronic (about 3 or 4 years ago). I bought the kit from MotoSWM, works awesome! I switched my carb to a OKO from MidAtlantic trials, that also works awesome! They do make a OKO kit for the 240 Rotax.

    2x2 SWM TL320

Someone posted this picture on Facebook, looks like Bernie Schreiber got to try out the 2X2 SWM!
  21. Thanks, very helpful! Look at Motoswm website, I think there was a engine service manual on there for the Rotax engine. Also try Old Knobbies both are SWM, but uses basically the same Rotax engine.
  22. Part fits perfectly
  23. My cover after being milled out.
  24. This set up works well on my SWM. I’m looking to modify two other bikes I have. Not having any luck finding the newer style actuator parts.
