  1. I can try and help you with some of the questions you ask!

1st the ohlins rear shock absorber is far superior to the sachs unit

and are about the best suspension units money can buy,the raga

    versions had ohlins units fitted.

They are ajustable for preload and compression and rebound damping

As reguards having the shock serviced if it is needed there are many

ohlins service agents advertised that will sort it for you!

  2. As bob said they do tend to catch on the inside of the footrest

hanger this is normal that is why they from factory put the

split link clip tp the inside. But as for rubbing on the clutch slave cylinder

bleed nipple it should not be any whare near that unless someone

has fitted it incorrectly, the banjo bolt and nipple should be virtical!

  3. I'm sure Dabster i right can't seem to find them anywhare which

i find strange'tried the other manufacturers links although all being

of the same pitch the renthal chain has a much larger pin size.

The trouble has arose because if you buy the recomended 102

link chain when fitted the wheel/tyre clearance is so small that

when the wheel is turning quickly it rubs on the lower part of the

shock body and swing arm.If you use a chain of 103 links in length

you have run out of ajustment before you start.By the way this is on a beta!

  4. Can anyone help have just bought a renthal r1 chain

for my beta and i requires a half link !

Does anyone know if they do one as i can't seem to

find one wherever i have looked cheers

And if so who sells them.

  5. My son has just taken delivery of a shiney new 270 and boys being boys didn't check the bike over thourghly before starting the bike. An item about 1cm sq and looking like a piece of brillo pad (wire wool) covered in Araldite (glue) was lurking in the air filter, it proceeded into the carby and jamed under the slide with obvious results. The poor bike revved its tits off and wouldn
  6. Some of the casings as already said are of

substandard grade and corrode away !

speak to lampkins about it i,m sure knowing him

he will help you out even though it is out of warranty

as said it is a known fault!

  7. Sounds to me by your description that the gasket

between the crankcase halve,s or the cylinder base gasket has

blown, you will have to get someone to kick it over while you

have a good listen as to where it is coming from!

  8. My chain not only rubs on the inside of the brake pedal

but on the inside of the foot rest bracket, there is virtually

no clearance at all ,i reakon that's why they put the split

link in the other way round at the factory because of this

    problem!

  9. Yeh had to lift the needle up to max to get it from

chonking as the rev,s dropped off they seem to

still need some fine ajustments. But having said

that they run a lot better carburation wise than

    any of the previous models.

  10. If you remove the brake lever and take off the rubber boot you will

see a circlip remove this and the piston draw's out ,there will be some

resistance so use some long nose pliers to get a good grip on it.

Once removed replace the seal and re assemble in reverse order

    job done !

  11. It certainly looks like one alright, but it has a very

grey matt looking finish, the slide in the one i have

is chrome plated this one appears not to be.

Is it a copy or a genuine one!

  12. Yep, all that means they aer p****d! I think! :D

Not enough that we now have what is basically a Toyots copy of a Dodge Truck, next you might see a Chineese copy of a Toyota!

I relate it all to being "half gay", your wallett or your ass! Which goes first? Yea, I know, just because you took one up the---- well, you know!

Buy US and EU while you still can! ;)

I would p**s my pants if it was better than the sherco

i don't thing they would have to try very hard to match

the SHERCO build quality.Good on them that's what i say

Theres no chance of it being any good.Everything made in china regarding motorbikes is CRAP.I bought a chinese PY for my lad,it was total rubbish, never seen such poor quality manufacturing.

I`m in my 2nd year of sherco ownership now,and after some initial problems caused by a previous owner,i just cant fault it.

    Sherco forever :(:):)

Aparently Gas Gas are romoured to be shipping

there production to china ,if they are under strict control

from the designers they CAN produce top quality products,

lets face it most products are produced in this way!
