  1. My mates 07 bike was pouring fuel out at an alarming

rate the first time he took it out,so off came the carb

to have a look and found the cause of the problen

on this occasion to be the float bowl gasket!

It was sticking out into the bowl that much one of

the floats was fouling on it causing the thing to

stay stuck down. The gasket was correctly fitted

but was to wide so cut it down job done.

  2. Yeh last year my mate got his beta out of the van ready for the start of

the lakes fired it up and let it warm while putting his lid on,put it into gear

the clutch was stuck and proceded to wheelie off straight into the brand

new van he had borrowed scratching all the paintwork on it and ending up in a heap on the floor

right in front of a load of people me and my mate p*****d ourselves!

  3. Spud i have to agree with you on the grip you get

with the 4rt's down here in the south they are not at

there best in the sticky mud once you break drive on one

forget it I know three people who have had them and

gone back to two strokes one of the reasons being this.

Mind you on the rocks is where they come into there own!

  4. Bin the kill switch mate, no amount of sealing and cleaning will make it work better, been there and got the T shirt.

The carb mod needs new float settings, drilling of carb body and praying to stop it leaking, the dealer will know how to do it easily. It will still leak abit but not pour, fit a 6-8 inch pipe on the overflow at the bottom of the carb and direct it under the swingarm or better still loop it up above the floats and back down. Dont leave the bike pointing downhill at any stage even slightly whilst stopped or it will mean 20 kicks to get it going and never leave the fuel tap on overnight.

Keep a good eye on the rear disc bolts, they come loose easy and can do some serious damage if one comes out.

I wish the bloody rear sprocket bolts would come undone so easy! but keep an eye on the top shock mount bolt and the frame strut bolts too these are my worst ones

If you pour boiling water on the sprocket bolt nuts this softens up

the threadlock and they will come out more easily!

  5. Don't forget the rim's that don't seal and you have to

sort that out yourself oh yeh that applies to all

the bikes but the mont's good really a rim manufacturer

that can't make them do the one thing their supposed to

    do hold air!

  6. Hope it does not have casting holes in the crank cases like

my mates pro, two to be precise when he spoke to gas gas

they said only two holes you must have a good one!

Not so bad oil leaking out of a two stroke but on a four

stroke disaster Can't wait to see the problems they will

have with these if it is anything kike the pro was when

    released.

  7. Can anyone please enlighten me i have a 07 290 sherco

and have a keihin carb for it, and am not sure as to what jetting

is best ,also the inlet on the keihin is larger than the stock

dellorto do you need to mod the aibox inlet or will it go on with a

bit of brute force help much appreciated!

  8. Yes saw these jackets on the <mention of this company is not permitted on Trials Central> stand at the dirt bike show was

sure they were ninety quid on there looked a nice peice of kit

the red looked good but not sure for how long! Had a sort of

microfleece lining to it but don't know if it is removable.

  9. Yeh had a set of the billet one's that come as standard on the scorpa

and mine snapped completly off at the mount they don't bend just break.

And the teeth wear out quickly they are pretty crap really they look

the part and that's as far as it goes.

  10. I bet if you look at the sales figures for the two stroke

mont compared to the four stroke i bet they are not even

half, they should have run with both models. At least beta

have not put all there eggs in one basket, the two strokes

are where there bread and butter sales will be coming from

for some time yet i suspect.Cirtainly at the money there asking,

    beta's are usually sensibly priced!

  11. Yes was hoping for a price in the four to four and a quater bracket

the that's still a fair chunk more than the two stroke at that.

People will still buy them though but i can't imagine by the shed

load ,if they have got it right sales are going to be similar to

    the mont i suspect.

  12. Yes it looks the part , i prefer the colour than the two strokes

i just hope for beta's sake they have done there homework

and got the engine right first time ! Engine wise it looks to me as if they

have had some strong input from outside sources, being as the drive &

kickstart clutch is all so different to the way they have traditionally

gone about it .Four years in the making it should be spot on & if it is

i reakon it will be a superb bike.
