There is a field round the back of one of the estates in Scarborough, you often see bikes getting ridden round on it, but i think it has to be a stolen bike with the plod in hot pursuit. Dave

Tomsdad is right all classes both days got mixed up with the national, in September. so many trials so little brain cells left. Dave

Scarborough 2 day is a great event, there are some hard sections but most are really good for all riders, there are the C and D class on the Saturday and A and B on the Sunday. There is camping over night with a band on and a bar, last year we had a monty trial for the kids on the evening, and a bouncy castle type thing. and there was a training day on the monday. The best thing to do is come along and see for yourself,you will have a great time and its a great experience. We have a dvd of the event if you send me a message with your address i will send you a copy to have a look at. Wont be untill after the weekend bit busy with the British solo championship that we are running this weekend. Dave C

Would just like to say a big thank you to every one who helped put this event on it was top notch, Pat Galway managed yet again to lay out a route that would test all riders. I managed to watch Pune, Dibs and Jack on most of the sections and there was nothing really to seperate them, Nice to see the top lads riding round together and having a laugh with each other. And as Shirty says on his page a lot of work has started at the camp still a lot more to do for the British Championship round, so get in your car and come and watch the best riders battle it out. There will be a brand new canteen coming to the camp very soon , seating area inside and there will be proper burgers, Steve Brown is putting weight on just thinking about them. Dave

You could try joining Scarborough & District Motor club they have a website with all the details, practice there 7 days a week as long as there is not an event on. You might even get to see Michael Brown practicing up there it is his local club. Dave C

This topic has been running on our club website at Scarborough, and we have been told by a man that is in the know that the picture is NOT the new Beta, but is infact a Beta 80 frame with 4 stroke engine in it. So i guess we will have to wait until the weekend to see the real new Beta . Dave C

Great weekend, trial on both days spot on, entertainment best yet. great prizes for the kids, what more could you want. well maybe Mark Taylor doing his Ninja roll and the weekend would have been perfect. Ps. Wilko loose the hat mate. Dave C

Myself and some lads from Scarborough have just got back from a long weekend in the Czech Republic watching the world round, the event was brilliant great sections and you could get real close to the action and not loads of hills like at Hawkstone, which was good for us because we had a fair bit of beer the night before so flat ground with the hang over was good. We were there to cheer on Michael Brown and Shaughan and he did not dissapoint, finished in his best position in the championship SO FAR. we might have to start going to every world round to lend our support. IF there is a world round there next year get yourselfs there its well worth it, great venue and beer is dead cheap. If any one else went did you notice how many very pretty young ladies were observing, must be a website in czech. pretty observers .com Nice to see Andy and Jake out and about having a few drinks. Great weekend of trials, the C & D riders put on a great show on the Saturday in difficult weather conditions, fantastic effort by all the people who managed to get the event to run. It was looking a bit dodgy on the Friday. Sunday saw better weather fine all day and the snow had cleared away with the bit of rain over night, some tough sections laid out over the entire length of low north camp to give the riders a good ride round, and a good run round for the minders and mums and dads, bet they ache this morning. Michael Brown helping out observing with his minder Shaughan, Graham Jarvis doing a spot of minding. and Shaughan even managed to win a Euro of Michael. Well done to all concerned Dave Also nice bacon sandwiches from the ladies in the tea hut, heater on its way.

Yes great trial sections spot on, weather held up ok no rain, great ride round the moors were a challenge if you got stuck. Had a few words of wisdom off Shaughan Galway at ravens gill but still could not get up that hill, need another training day with him i geuss. Well done SDMC Dave

Your sources are correct Gez spoke to him about it and it is a 4 stroke with different internals, the red triple clamps are on main Beta website.

I was looking at Michaels bike today while he was out practicing, and the front red yolks look great he also has what looks like a 4 stroke rear silencer on his bike nice looking bit of kit. I will ask him for some more details and see if they are available to joe public. Dave

I went to a trial school at Low North Camp near Scarborough, which was organised by junior world champ Michael Brown and Shaughan Gallway. We had the morning with Shaughan and then had dinner then went with Michael in the afternoon, and it was well worth it Shaughan motivates you so much and makes you believe you can actually ride a trials bike and he is excellent at showing you how to do it right and explain what your doing wrong, and he is such a good laugh you feel more relaxed. In the afternoon it was Punes turn to try his magic on us, sections he set out stepped up a notch from the morning ones, Michael is more quiet than Shaughan but there again who isnt, he is very patient and spends loads of time with everyone helping them not only with the riding but with the lines we picked through the sections, and he spots things that your doing wrong that when he points it out you soon relise where you have been going wrong. And when we were all knacked it was good to watch Pune do a few sections, my bike is still getting over the shock. All in all excellent day Dave C S.D.M.C

Hello does anyone know if the YMSA photos from the 3 day trial have been put on there website, when i click on the gallery for the 3 day some squares come up on the left hand side of the page with numbers in them, but i can not seem to be able to view them. This may be me or my computer doing something wrong, just wondered if anyone else was having trouble. I have sent an email to them direct but have yet had no reply but i guess they get a lot of emails and cant reply to them all. Thanks Dave

I have just come back from the YMSA three day and this was my first visit but it will not be my last, what a great event three days of riding against some of the hardest sections i have ever done. The weather was perfect for the three days, Saturday was a little hot at Milltown quarry with no shade any where, Bracken rocks was cooler and plenty of shade and you needed it with the sections a little harder than the first day,then it was a dash back to the Bed & Breakfast for a quick shower and change and taxi up to Dudwood farm for the entertainment that had been arranged for the evening. There was plenty to eat and drink on the Sunday night with music playing all night, trials vids playing onto a van side they make good projector screens. there was a bouncy castke type thing with bungee straps, that fixed round your waist and you had to run down as far as you could before the bungee straps pulled you back great fun for the kids and adults. Then the mechanical bull turned up and Daniel Knaggs managed to beat the all time record for staying on it. There was a tug of war which ended up with most people rolling around on the ground, Andy Woodall fell on his elbow and it looked like someone had pushed a tennis ball under his skin, still managed to ride on the Monday and got secound place in adult novice. On the Monday Barry and Ian and helpers had laid out 12 sections some on the rocks and some down by the stream and a couple up in the woods, a good mixture of sections with varying degrees of difficulty. Well done to all the lads who travelled down from Scarborough some great results. Must mention Mark Taylor Andy Woodall and Rob Tomlison who managed a 1 2 and 3 in the adult novice, i had a bet on with Rob and it cost me a tenner. Big thank you to Barry and Ian and there many helpers for putting on such a good event. Thanks Dave Ps any idea when results and photos will be on YMSA website.
