  4. I can vouch for the BBQ, and the riding around Boogieville, AK "first class". However if you make it to the TTC,keep us posted as we try to have a small group ride on the weekends. today we had 7 of us brave the sunny 48 degree weather. Tim
  5. hi, you might try temporally disconnecting the kill switch. some styles have a tendency to short at high revs when they age. good luck, Tim

  8. I missed the previous thread where you discussed the water pump seal replacement. could be contaminated clutch plates. I had an 02" edition model that the friction material lost its bond with the clutch disc after coming into contact with the coolant/trany fluid mix. this caused the clutch action to become more inconsistent over time to the point where the clutch would no longer disengage. I would inspect the friction discs closely for this. Tim
  9. Sounds like the master cylinder compression seal is allowing the fluid to leak around the piston back into the reservoir. Provided there is no scoring to the bore, should be an easy fix with a cylinder rebuild kit. Tim
  10. thanks wri5hty, I bought a new cover to have as a just in case "$200.00 + US" then took the old cover and decreased it thoroughly used high temp silicone on the inside and two part epoxy (JB weld ) on the outside. built it up with several layers to follow the natural contours of the cover with an additional layer around the outside of the cover (aprox 6mm thick) above the cracked bolt hole. So far it has worked well no leak and no sign of further "crackage" also replaced the hick start gear and idler, as they were pretty knackered will make a mental note to henceforth engage the kick start gears properly before prodding the lever . Well I'll be Dipped. looks like I am having the same issue, thought the gasket was responsible for the slight leak, but closer observation reveals a crack running through the top left bolt hole towards the slave cylinder. any feed back on which course of action to take would be greatly appreciated.     Front Brake

    thanks gents, I have done most of these suggestions, but will double check, I knew to tighten the axle with the brake firmly applied, but wounder if relieving the backing plate would help, as the axle fit is tight. _tlr: what are/is the I shaped cams you refer to? Glenn are you going to Marion?

    Front Brake

    I have a "86" US model TLR200. the front brake has good modulation but lacks the power to lock the wheel. on a steep descent, even when using 3 fingers on the end of the long stock lever. it will most often over shoot where you need to be in a section. any suggestions on improving the power of the front brake would be greatly appreciated. Also, drum brake is a must under the rules of twin shock. Tim
  14. in response to the problem with hopping: I do far more bicycle trials than moto, and the thing i must remember when on the moto is. To start a hop you push down first, just a quick stab with the legs, and weight shift biased front or rear depending on which end your trying to hop. also when properly executed the move requires almost no arm effort. hop (Pun intended) this helps.     Tlr 200 Gearing

    how do you fit the smaller sprockets? stock locking ring is to large on the smaller sprocket is it not? sorry if this seems lile a dumb ? thanks, Tim
