  1. Ooooh errr all looks a bit kickstart to me. Nice bike but shame about the section.
  2. Try Mick Grant or Jim Pickering they seem to be the authority on Bantams at the moment.
  3. Thanks for that cleanorbust . I had a look last night but couldnt see anything. Just wanted to see how our Clubs members had gone on. Some good rides well done lads
  4. Tried the website link on their facebook page but it appears to be broken.

  6. Peak Classic Trials Club held round 8 of their 2015 Championship at Carsons Farm last Sunday 30th August and firstly we would like to thank all the riders and observers who turned out on the Bank Holiday weekend to support the Club. Carsons Farm is a small compact but popular venue and the Clerk of the Course Paul Beswick had still managed to find a challenging mixture of rocks, tree roots and climbs for the riders to enjoy and test their skills on. Four laps of 10 sections was the order of the day and the Expert British Bike class was won in fine style by Simon Bown on his newly rebuilt BSA Bantam which he is slowly getting to his liking and his winning score of 18 marks showed how man and machine are getting in harmony. Second place went to Steve Thompson also on a BSA but a thundering 4 stroke made the battle a bit of a David and Goliath act but well ridden both of you. Expert Twinshock was a closely fought affair between Honda mounted Robert Carson, whose family own the land and so kindly let us use it, and ex works rider Chris Milner on his Bultaco. Only one mark separated them in the end with Robert on 3 and Chris on 4. In third place was another local man Dale Shaw who hasn’t ridden for about a year but the rust soon wore off and he rode to a fine third place losing just 11 marks along the way. The only rider to go clean on the day was Peter Carson on his rigid Bantam in the Classic Expert British Bike class closely followed by Tim Hartshorne on his Matchless on 2 marks. Another David and Goliath act with the diminutive Bantam coming out on top. In third was another rider on a Bantam getting used to his new ride and that was Gary Shaw who had a good ride to lose only 13 unlucky for some. A smaller entry than normal in the Classic Expert Twinshock class saw David Pattison supreme on 9 marks ahead of second placed Mick Atmore on 16 and Robert Mycock in third out on his Majesty and still coming to terms with the difference from his usual Bultaco on 41 which looked a lot worse because he missed section 10, a fairly easy section, on all four laps adding an extra 20 to his score. Intermediate British Bike saw the Bantam of young Harry Lyons triumphant ahead of Martyn Nelson out on his James which he is also coming to terms with instead of his usual Yamaha. Harry taking the win on 32 against Martyns 39. Intermediate Twinshock saw Gary Martin on his SWM have a brilliant ride to lose just 6 marks and the win ahead of second placed David Cole, Yamaha, on 27 and third placed John Morley on his Honda on 37. Gary obviously found the course on the day to his liking. Coming all the way from Australia John Barnes was trying out his Tiger Cub in preparation for the upcoming Manx two day and convincingly won the Classic Intermediate class with a loss of 10 marks ahead of second placed Bantam mounted Peter Elvidge on 12 and Linden Thorpe bringing his Cub home in third on 40 marks lost. A much shorter trip was had by Classic Intermediate Twinshock winner Peter Austin on his Aprilia who lost 19 marks to keep MZ special rider Alan Marin – Andrews in second place on 38 and Magnus Roche, Fantic, in third on 43 marks. This is the first time we have had the pleasure of a home brewed special MZ compete with us and it was a delight to see all the hard work come to fruition. Arthur Tomkinson put on his usual polished performance to claim victory on his bog standard Greeves Scottish in the British Bike Clubman class with a loss of only 7 marks ahead of Cotton mounted Chris Boyett on 31 and young Alan Critchlow on his James in third on 53 marks. Clubman Twinshock saw Phil Green bring his Bultaco home in the lead ahead of Simon Currie, Yamaha, and Tony Shaw, Bultaco, in third and their scores were close at the bell being 8, 12 and 14 respectively. Well ridden guys. Clubman Air Cooled Mono was a two way fight between ex East Midlands Centre Champion Barrie Rodgers and Steven Blower both Yamaha TY riders with Barrie taking the honours on 28 to Stevens 33. Our next event will be round 9 at Longcliffe Tops on September 27th so see you there. 7. Ive got a really nice 350 Ossa motor from a TR77 im selling. Never been trialed. Problem is its in the UK and carriage would be quite a bit but its here if youre interested
  8. Hi guys dont forget this Sunday 30th August we have round 8 of the Club Championship at Carsons Farm, Grange Mill near Matlock, Derbyshire. The venue will be signed off the main Cromford to Buxton road the A5012. I am told the nearest postcode for your sat nav is DE4 4HY but i have never used sat nav to go to this venue so i can not guarantee it is correct. I have borrowed a sat nav today and the post code is correct but it also covers two farms a quarry and a campsite so best to look for the signs into the venue off the A5012. Start time is as usual 11.00 am and there will be Expert, Classic Expert, Intermediate, Classic Intermediate and Clubman routes. Classes for British Bikes, Twinshocks, Pre95 Air Cooled monos and over 50's on moderns . So all in all something for everybody. Please come along and support the Club. See you there smile emoticon
  9. Nah i reckon he had the wrong map fitted to the ECU
  10. Its a TY250 A and the forks are back to front as is the front wheel. Probably cost more than it would ever be worth to restore better to break it and sell of as spares. That way you should make a profit.
  11. Simple 1. Price plus you can buy complete. 2. It's light and short. 3. In response to course plotters obsession with ever tighter sections then its inevitable that we will all have to ride shorter lighter machines to even get round without a "works dab"
  12. The brake plate came without shoes Steve. I would get them relined with decent material even if i could get new ones mate. Getting some that fit is the problem.
  13. Nice to hear let us know how you get on.
  14. I did tend to run steel tubular rails to support the bash plate under the motor as required by the Scottish 2 day and "the sows ear" is fitted with them also but Dural is best i agree.
  15. Been told today the brake plate might even be from an IT as they were very similar the choice of shoes gets bigger every day bother and thrice bother. Might have to go back to fit the orrible std TY one
  16. 6mm for the bash plate sounds fine but a side panel in 3mm is a bit overkill IMHO. I always use 1.5 or even 1mm thick ally for side panels after all they are purely cosmetic not stress bearing and the thinner alley is easier to form to more complex shapes. Up to you really.
  17. I got a pair of those but they arent quite right. Apparently they differ slightly depending on the year of manufacture and i dont know firstly for sure that it is a YZ and secondly the year so annoying but thanks for the input hughesy
  18. Interesting article. Not totally related but sort of i have a TY with the same front brake plate mod with the brake lever on the outside but std TY shoes dont fit. Anybody know which shoes you use with one of these brake plates ?
  19. Never could see the point myself. I HATE mud
  20. Seem to remember he was asking about pad material and which brand of pads to buy. I agree about getting the shoes on drum braked monos relined oversize and in better material but i dont know anybody who does pads sorry.
  21. Good point i had never considered. I am probably in the minority though as on these practice days i get bored after 20 mins as it doesnt matter if you dab or not so whats the point. People do say to me i'm going "practising" a lot but i never see them at events like you say. What the heck are they practising for then if they never ride in a competition ? I must be the odd one out
  22. What dia is the spindle ? Has it been modified ? Modern practice is to use 17mm spindles so if that is the case modify the swingarm to suit. You could even weld on replacement slots which are available on e bay cheaply.
