  1. Here's my carb connector pics......
  2. I'll check my bike this evening...the connector you sourced does look very similar to whats fitted on mine but I will confirm. Good luck, Mark. PS...anyone know of a good spoke supplier?
  3. Here's the exhaust we manufactured for my bike...certainly runs better with a nicer note and almost as quiet....
  4. Built new alloy exhaust based on a couple of existing 'home-mades', larger tubing, mid section chamber and silencer, the bike revs out much better now and looks nice...will post picture tonight. Still need to sort out gearing as I think 1st is still a little quick for nadgery stuff..my 2nd outing was much better but I still need to get some practice in as the bike is tending to go where 'it wants' and not where I need to be going. Upcoming jobs are replacing worn camshaft bush and remove decompressor arm from cylinder head as its currently chaffing its way through the fuel line that connects the sections of the alloy tank. Any tips on removing the camshaft with minimum fuss will be gratefully accepted. Cheers all, Mark.
  5. Having ridden the bike for the 1st time in 'anger', I found that 1st gear is a little too high, what size sprockets do you all use? I have 43t on the back, not sure what's on the front...I'll take a look tonight. Cheers all, Mark.
  6. See 'Trefil'....upper left quarter of your map. Trial is set in a quarry that faces the Brecon Beacons, in winter, it is probably the coldest place on earth....rocks and rocks will be the order of the day. Venue is 10 mins off the A465....enjoy
  7. Sorry..forgot about the other mod...file the leading(front) edge of the aluminium bracket to a sharp edge thus reducing the chance of mud building up at the intersection of the bracket and the m/guard. Good luck, Mark.
  8. Brilliant, cheers Stu. There will be an Autocad drawing designed within days..thanks again, Mark.
  9. Not so sure about the black guards..makes the bike look a bit bulky IMHO..awesome sumpguard! Is there any chance of a view from the otherside? would like a peek at the silencer. Oh yes..are these your bikes? Mark.
  10. Experienced exactly same thing with my '97.....made some alloy spacers and fitted them neneath the m/guard...think I lifeted it 10mm or so...good luck. Mark.
  11. Cheers all...will take your advice HRS, what colour were the m/guards originally anyway, white?, were they a specific shape or could Sammy M. sort me out? My mate has a a couple of TLR's, 200 & 250, I'll pop down there to investigate the exhaust details. Thanks again. PS..gorgeous pics of RTL's on this board, really impressive. Mark.
  12. No...I'm not 'the' Griffiths of Wales' just a cheap impersonator! Glad you like the bike. HondaRS...regarding silencer, what internals are necessary for a 4 stroke? A mate of mine is dead handy with a mig welder and could easily build a better functioning unit than the one fitted. Best of luck lads, Mark.
  13. This is my Seeley...bought a couple of months ago, going to do some cosmetic work such as wheel rebuilds, hub powder coat etc. Open to other suggestions..keep em clean please
  14. Cheers all...thanks for the suggestions..I'll let you know what I find. Regards, Mark.
  15. Recently fitted a new NGK plug to the bike as the old one was completely black and sooty. Now after only a couple of minutes riding the new one is getting to the same state...surely 4 stroke engines should be cleaner than the 'dirtier' variety? A road racing mate of mine has suggested that the timing may be incorrect...I intend checking this as per the manual's instruction..I.E. with a strobe. Any other suggestions? Best regards, Mark.
  16. Woody, Does your camshaft have a bearing/bush fitted to the side opposite the cam chain sprocket? Mine has a solid bush fitted and I reckon there is about 0.005" clearance between the I/D of the bush and the O/D of the camshaft. Oh..by the way, are you Stephen Hole of 'Hope' fame?...if you are watched you many times riding down here in the St Davids. Best regards, Mark.
  17. Trefil quarry...Heads of the Valleys road (A465), nr Ebbw Vale. Rocks and more rocks...thank your lucky stars its not taking place mid-winter....COLD Good luck anyway, Mark.
  18. Refitted the carb after milling the face as described and the engine idles and revs out much better. There is a noticeable 'ticking' from the top of the cylinder head, not sure if its a trait of this engine or wear in the camshaft area. Making a new sump guard, lighter back brake lever, replacing old fixings and its off to the mountains...Cheers lads Mark.
  19. Absolutely brilliant Stu, I have the same needle in mine but the clip is on the 2nd groove from the sharp end. Just got my carb back from Allen's ' can't help you with that Sir' Performance R & D and noticed (should have done before I sent it) that the face that clamps to the head manifold is very badly bent (concave) and must be letting in loads of air, just got the faced milled. Also found that the plug fitted is definately not the recommended brand or type and is pretty well sooted up, I'm going to get an NGK asap. I'm going to give it a whirl again tonight. Thanks again for the info, much appreciated. Best regards, Mark. PS Just updated my profile (email etc)
  20. I would be interested to know what make and model of carburetor may work for my Seeley 200...the bike is currently fitted with a Keihin PC40C and doesn't run well...think its worn and tried in vain to get spares...help Cheers, Mark.
  21. Hello lads, Just got myself a lovely looking Seeley...a brief 1st plod around the garden really got me excited....attempting to ride up a fairly innocent bank proved to be disappointing as the enging 'bogged' a little. The carb on the bike is a Keihin PC 04C, needle appears a little worn so I've sent the whole carb off to Allen's Performance R & D to get it checked/refurbed. Will keep you posted.. Oh yes, anyone have any idea how I can get the year of manufacture verified as I'd like to get an age related plate...thanks a lot, Mark.
