  1. It may come to that, but do you think Phil will be that bothered, not sure he will?
  2. As I said Iam no computer geek, is this a technical term??????????
  3. Check the plug see if theres a spark at least its a bike related answer Not a computer geek sorry mate..................
  4. You talking about Phil Alderson here
  5. One topic leads into another and still is a good debate as for you second question good point
  6. In your own words there are loads of people out there that are not capable of riding the WTC or the BTC.....= Small percentage and there are a few more people that think they are capable of riding the SSDT......... = Bigger percentage then there's a whole load more that are not capable of any of the above..........= Huge percentage Now at club level which rules should we adopt?
  7. There is....................but do you actually know what rules they adopt until you actually get there? Yes you could phone up and ask, only a handful may do that but it is doubtful? You could ask the observer at the first section, ''9/10 they will look at you blankley'' because they havn't got a clue about one rule or another they will just count dabs, some have a better understanding. Fair play for them to pick up an obserers board as it is a thankless task, especially when you get the irate rider telling you what there sore actually was? Or you just turn up and ride, like the majority and see the scores later in the week and ain't too bothered? but still rant and rave about only dropping 'X' on one section and not the score you actually got. This works both ways as some observers are lenient and your score may be less than you thought? This is slightly off topic but still a good debate I nowadays prefer 'No stop' and get away with murder in some sections for a dodgy '3', which is very, very skillfull
  8. Ditto that!!!!! if they are already in the rear hole then move them forward and take a link out of your chain.
  9. Why???? you are getting some answers here, if you don't get answers in the Beta forum will you be moving it somewhere else???
  10. Doubt it as I have a BP fuel card and we get a slight discount on the fuel we buy, so given the present circumstances to save the company money in the rising fuel costs................I will continue to use BP along with millions of others!
  11. Wonder if 'Fuji' will say that when and if he enters he SCOTT this year ????????????
  12. .....thats down to the individual observer not the event and that applies to whichever rules you are riding under, but thats a whole new debate, which rules are easier to observe???
  13. I don't think it will and I know we keep going back to the SSDT, but back in the 90's when the trial was too hard because of all the hopping and skipping! one year only receiving 160+ entries. People couldn't do it then and nearly 20 years on there are more people that can't hop and skip thn can!! Willie Dalling then made the brave decision to revert the event back to 'No Stop' the rest is really history, you try and get in now. Ok you may have lost the the big factory names, but the event was opened up to a whole load more people that are capable and CAN ride No Stop. These people and in AtomAnt's own thinking may have less skill, but it is putting bums on bikes and filling the entry up for the club when they put on such an event. If the BTC and the WTC can sustain itself with the present format all well and good and I too like to watch and admire the riders capable of tackling these sections, but if it can't then the rules will be changed in one direction only and I feel it will be closer to No Stop?? No Stop will be here for a lot longer than the FIM rules that have been changed several times already, I am all for progress, hopefully not detrimental to our sport!!! Going back to 'axulsuv' post back in the 70's/80's when people asked you what you did ''Trials oh yes seen that just like KICKSTART on the TV'' no, but very similar
  14. KENICHI KUROYAMA can still ride a bit, 6th place beating Cabestany Good result for him and for Yamaha/Scorpa
  15. Think they may ease the sections for day 2 Really tough day in all classes
  16. And here lies the problem when you turn up at a trial ''Do you actually know what rules you are riding under??'' Not a critisism about your comment, but as many have said I think the majority want the rules sorting out once and for all!
  17. Good point, and that works both ways, some of the old twin shock videos recentlly the skill of the riders hanging on reluctant to have that dab where most people would be scootering, likewise the balance of Mr Bou and Co. hopping on the back wheel has its skill.
  18. This topic has been discussed several times with people having many opinions and all with there for's and againsts, but which one is more challenging to the rider ??? I see it this way: STOP - gives the rider, albeit with a time limit at the higher level of our sport, within reason enough time to assess a difficult part of the section allowing him to hop and skip to get him back on line, certainly a great skill for the few that can do it and walking the section you don't have to be inch perfect everywhere as you can stop and hop back on line to get you out of some trouble if you get it slightly wrong. NO STOP - gives the rider one chance and one chance only to get his line right, get it wrong there is no second chance so there is a definate skill when walking the section to pick your lines and try and stay on them. Both have there individual skill??? A NO STOP example is having watched the SSDT this year I would say that DL picked his lines on the sections Inch perfect, however, at Gorton I beleive only 2 people cleaned the bottom 2 subs Ben Hemmingway and Richard Timperley being inch and line perfect with DL taking a prod or two having got off line. Certainly I think No Stop is a more level playing field for the majority. On the flip side at the top level the riders that have the better trick riding ability I think tend to come out on top. This narrows the playing field greatly This is not a which rules are best post, but which is more skillfull and challenging?
