  1. Police have reported that with further observation, it turns out the lion in Essex is just a snow leopard with a spray tan and hair extensions.
  2. Great news that the kids have their bikes back. Hopefully the Sherco will turn up too.

    Starting Problem

Have you done the basics and cleaned the carb out? I've had similar issues on my 02 and it looks like I had some muck somewhere for about the last 6 months. I've cleaned it and cleaned it, maybe time for new jets for me. The bike usually starts first kick in the garage, yet I get it to a trial and it runs for about 2 seconds in the car park then blurghhh. Sods law. Sometimes it floods and sometimes its dry as a bone. My slapdash cure has always been putting a little fuel down the plug hole to start it then it seems fine all day. Its a pain getting to the plug when the tank doesn't fit properly. Leaving the fuel on for the journey to the trial has been one cure lately which perhaps suggests a lack of fuel when its been stood. I'd be interested to see what suggestions you get as this may help me out too! Rich
  5. The sequel to Trials HD is about to be released in the next couple of months. Its Trials Evolution. I have never played any of them but thought this may excite some of you? http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=1LeDh6p0S6I I can't remember how to embed the video.. doh
  6. My Mrs needs her rack raising a bit, she said its giving her back ache now. (Had a baby last year) I'll tell her being upside down might help. P.S nice looking project
  7. So Fabio Capello resigns as the England manager. An Italian quitting a sinking ship, who would of thought it....
  8. Hi Lennie, Waterside JMCC and Waltham Chase have a club trial every month within a few miles of where you are staying. Both have great websites and show last years results online for some sort of comparison. http://www.watersidejmcc.org.uk/ http://www.walthamchasetrials.co.uk/index.asp The Waltham Chase website gives provisional dates for the Southern Centre Championship and names of the other clubs in the centre. 12th February Ringwood, 4th March Bridport & Weymouth, 1st April Alton, 29th April XHG Tigers, 20th May Waltham Chase, June 3rd Alton, July 1st Waltham Chase, September 2nd Waltham Chase, September 9th XHG Tigers, October 28th Southampton and District, December 30th Ringwood These are generally the most competitive and have fuller entries. Do you know what dates you will be down here? Cheers Rich
  9. A man phones an Airfix shop and asks if he has a model of an Italian cruise ship, the owner says, yes I've just one left, the man says, can you put it to one side for me... Paddy and Murphy are on a cruise ship. Paddy says, "It's awfully quiet on deck tonight." Murphy says, "Everyone will be watching the band." Paddy says, "There isn't a band playing tonight." So Murphy says, "I definitely heard someone say, 'a band on ship.'"
  10. I think god misunderstood Amy Winehouse when she asked for speed
  11. On both wheels instead! No big jumps allowed and no locking the brakes either.
  12. Maybe someone can invent a device that beeps when the front wheel stops moving. A speedo sensor could be adapated. That way the rider knows he's stopped, as do the crowd and crucially the observer does too. The importers could supply at cost price to help promote no stop if this is their worry?
  13. Balancing on 2 wheels is hard enough! Your link has a full stop at the end so does not work, try http://www.photobysergio.fr/jimmy-video-rudolphe.html
  14. I've done the same, IRC rear kept coming off the rim, when it did it in a trial someone gave me a tube, its been in since. I took the tubeless valve out and popped in the tube in the car park. I've done about 15 trials on it with no problems. (Touch wood)
  15. Yeh take it off the front wheel at the caliper or at the bars, that way you are not interfering with the brakes. Just be careful where the loose cable and caliper hang to ensure they are not bent or snagging.
  16. Oh yeh forgot about the front brake, clutch and throttle, I took th ebars off at the clamps under the pad, the bars then cable tied to the frame. That way no worries about levers in the wrong place. If you have a mate with abike try it first. If you have decking at the rear and no access, could you not just ride over the house? maybe use a car or van as a kicker? Just remembered i have a picture of the old beta as it came out of the boot, I took the forks off at the headstock on taht one. not the best quality but you will get the gist. N
  17. As blackberry seems to be on everyones lips lately... have a look at this video, its old but right on topic this week.
  18. My last 2 bikes I bought I put in the back of a Toyota Starlet,(Fiesta size) forks off at the yokes and front wheel and guard still complete, then back wheel out and rear guard off. The bike is then quite small and can easily be carried by one careful owner. Chain wrapped up in a carrier bag to save oil marks and let the bike sit on the sump. I turned up to a trial like this, took ten mins to put back together. Took it to the jet wash in bits , back int the boot and went home. All of that cos I didn't have a towbar! I haven't tried taking one up the stairs but can honestly say its no worse than carrying a big sack of spuds, but you get some decent gripping points off the frame and swing arm. Can someone do this and post the video? I'm guessing a home made bike safe is out of the question and you have no outdoor space that you own. Apparently there is a few old tin huts near you on a piece of land called Dale Farm and I heard no one will nick anything from there
  19. Sounds good, any ideas when the Trials entry form will be posted on the website? I'm curious about what the entry fee is, appears to be £47 for none members with insurance included for the enduro class. I'm tempted for the experience but probably wouldn't last the full time, its a bit different to my tenner trials entry fee where I can still get a couple of hours riding in and report back home for duty by 3pm! Is an ACU trials licence good enough once the medical questionairre is filled out? As an afterthought, do you need marshalls on bikes? Maybe a great way for a free day out to have a look and get some further interest from the tight ones who won't pay the entry (I could fall into that category!) Cheers Rich
  20. 2 shoes or a new vibe, which do the girls prefer? (If you haven't watched or read about X factor uk this is wasted on you, apologies for destroying the thread with something about it)
  21. I had the same problem with a IRC I bought around December last year. I now ride around with a tube in as I gave up. (At my level it doesn't seem to make a difference and the bike is nearly ten years old so the rim may be a little off shape) I've had it in the bath time after time, I've also had the fairy liquid out, I've had 2 new rim tapes but to be honest I've not tried the one piece band and valve. I do get the odd random bubble over a few minutes but nothing consistent. What I don't understand is why will it keep anything from 5 to 30 psi in it for weeks, then as soon as I ride over a log or small step it goes all at once. Does the tyre expand?
  22. They were repeated November 18 and 19th on Eurosport 2 last year. If you miss those ones you could ask for the DVD for christmas. It is less than 100 days away now!
  23. You tube shows previous years and the bikes have engines in them, lucky dip anyone!
  24. I've just searched the SKY TV listings and came accross Trial Cahors on Motors TV UK, scheduled for Sunday 18th Sep at 2.30pm. "The worlds best trial riders test their equilibrium on one of the toughest courses in Europe laid out in the city centre of the medieval town of Cahors" Is this the french world round or something else from previous years? May be worth checking out. Eurosport 2 lists the second round of the 2011 world trial from Breal-sous-Montfort in France. This could be the last round and I presume they have listed it wrong? Thursday 22nd Sep 10.00pm.
  25. There are loads of people in the town centre playing medieval instruments really badly. Will this mindless luting never end? David Cameron said in the commons today that many of the youths involved in the rioting don't know the difference between right and wrong. After hearing some of those youths talking on the news the last few days, I doubt very much they even know the difference between right and left! Ironically, in exactly a year's time in London there will be hundreds of people running about trying to take either gold, silver or bronze and it will all be started with the single shot of a pistol. I was watching the news with my wife last night. "It looks like the Kaiser Chiefs were right." I said. "Yeah, very funny," she replied. "I Predict A Riot." I said, "No... Everyday I Love You Less And Less."
