  1. Couldn't agree more Mike rang Friday about faulty stator on my 2010 300 4stroke , new one arrived under warranty sat morning and 1 hour later bikes running sweat as a nut from my experiences the service is faultless .
  2. Update: Gary at Lampkins sent me a replacement stator overnight changed it this afternoon now running sweat as a nut :-)
  3. Got a funny feeling it maybe stator bikes only 8 month old so covered by warranty but still not good but noticed bike has been backfiring more than normal last 2 rides out maybe that was a sign of things starting to break down ??
  4. Maybe a daft question but whereabouts are the timing bolts ???
  5. Checked all connections even stripped and cleaned carb and still no joy may ring Lampkins tomorrow and see if they can over night me one if they can and it sorts it then yes riding Sunday if not I'm a bit stuck mate
  6. Cheers Jon you saying I shouldn't be using red diesel In my tractor ?? Lol your only jealous of the grip i get mate , on a serious note got a feeling it may be the dreaded stator but at least still under warranty ?

    Help bikes developed a really bad misfire 1 minute it was fine next popping and banging like mad , changed the plug ( spare one but not new ) checked wiring connections and earth and disconnected kill switch and still no joy , any ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated , thanks in advance

The best way ive found is from cold give the throttle a little turn maybe 1/4 then let go turn choke on and give it a nice long kick and keep the kickstart down until it gets going ( only 2 sec ? ) always starts 1st or 2nd kick , from warm i always use the hot start and no throttle and again a slow long kick again keeping kickstart down until it gets going the only time it stuggles to start is when its been on its side and flooded at which point i turn the fuel off , open throttle fully then kick away and hope for the best

    Yes I had a 250cc 08 4 stroke and never had it happen its only when I've moved to the 300cc that it's started

    Yes mine does same if I've been above 3/4 revs for more than 30 seconds and drop the revs off quickly usually on a road section think it's just excess fuel burning off ??? Doesn't seem to have any side effects just makes you jump now and again lol

    Cheers Jon will strip the carb over the weekend and give it a good clean and see if the choke cable will free off a bit

    Bought my lad his 1st motorbike a PW50 good condition runs lovely and smooth starts 1st kick every kick only problem I have is when it's not been started in a day or too it will take 30 kicks or more to start once it's going we never have a problem it's getting fuel through and I've fitted a new plug so it's got a strong spark but can't understand why it's so hard to start when cold imagine it will be worse in winter ?? Any suggestions ??
  13. Tried both a michy and IRC , it came as standard with a michy but I prefere IRC so swapped them and that's when the problems started so thought the IRC was a slack fit so put the original michy back on ( only been used 3 times ) and still no joy

Cheers twinkletoes will take tyre off tomorrow and check , local trials shop can't see anything obvious when they have tried another tyre may have to have a word with Acklams where I bought it it's still under warranty just trying to save a 2.5 hour round trip it's strange how the tyre isn't a tight fit ??

Im having problems with the rear tyre on my 2010 300 4stroke the rim seems to be very slightly to small as we cant get the tyre to seat properly when we put it on even when using a comressor to blow tyre it up , you can even get a new tyre onto the rim without using tyre levers and when you blow it up it doesnt POP onto rim its more like a wet fart ? So needless to say as soon as i try to use it the tyre leaks ive even had to fit an inner tube but twice the tyre has moved round on the rim ripping the valve off the inner tube ive tried 2 different makes of tyre and still having same problem . Anybody out their had similar issues ? Thanks in advance

Type betamotor into google and the website will come up in Italian click the British flag in right hand corner to translate to English all manuals listed down right hand side for you to down load and keep including the wiring diagram not sure why beta uk website doesn't have the upto date details ???
  17. Posting for a mate but could someone advise me on what settings the carb air screw and mixture screw needs to be set at ?? He's only just got the bike we have cleaned the carb etc but it still seems to be hunting ( if that's the right expression ) so could do with knowing what settings to start off with , sorry if this has been covered else where I couldnt find it ???

Dan I ride a 300 4 stroke and im 15 stone the bike has more than enough power to take me anywhere i want to go ( and places i dont ha ha ) and in any gear you never need more than half throttle even on the biggest hills, its both smooth and responsive you also have the advantage of engine braking so your not diving for the brake all the time you just shut the throttle off im trying to sort out a TTT silencer they are expensive but had one on my 08 4 stroke and it made an amazing difference with the smoothness and power delivery ,but with everything its down to personal choice for me its 4 stroke all the way
  19. WD40 is better at tar removing than any other off the shelve product even use it on the paint work on my car all you need to do is wax the paint work after you have used it works a treat
  20. Warming up with a hair dryer may help to soften the glue and allow them to peel off easier ??
  21. Get them nice and warm with a hairdryer and press them on gently from one end carefully working your way to the other with them been nice and warm it will cling nicely to all creases of the bike
  22. Evo without a doubt as Ben says rev3 was nice but the evo is a different class altogether
