Just done the same, stripped it down but it is only sealed by flat face pressure exerted onto a OEM seal, so once it leaks it looks like its a new tap. All back together now and back on the bike, new tap needed.

Hi all has any one striped down the evo fuel tap to repair a leak? If so are there any gaskets or O rings that are replaceable or is it a new tap?

Anyone know if the S3 front pipe will make any difference in performance?
  4. I am fitting an S3 front pipe to my sons 125, but I do not have the suggested compressor insert (as recommended by S3) does the insert make much difference? Also does any know how much effect the S3 pipe will have on the bikes performance, or is it all sales hype?
  5. Glad it helped (shocking sketch)!
  6. Excuse the the quick sketch but as you can see if either switch is made this will kill the bike!

I think it must be a faulty cap, can you try one of your riding mates fuel caps on your bike. Never had a problem with our four evo's.
  8. Have you got any free play at the lever, if not you will not be able to back bleed.
  9. If you have adjusted the brake lever and not left a small amount of free play the brake fluid can not return to the master cylinder, this will cause the extra heat created during riding to overheat the fluid because the pads do not release correctly. Once the fluid is hot the brake will fade.
  10. I used Silkolene Light Gear Oil in both my lads beta 80's with no problems and good clutch action.

Don't want to get shot but have you considered the Beta evo?

My son wants to fit Boyesen reeds to his 2013 Evo 125! Do you think he will notice any difference in the bike? And if so is it a trade off, do you loss anything in the power range as well as gain?

Anything else you want to tell us? Lol
  15. No it's not!
  16. I have the 300 4T never normally have a problem with starting when hot but have found that if the bike has been on its side or stalled, a big handful (100% open) will start the bike first kick every time, I do not use the hot start plunger.
  17. I am changing the swinging arm bearings on my sons 2011 evo, has the bearing size been made smaller than the rev ( width of the bearing 2mm smaller) or has the previous owner fitted the wrong bearings. If anyone knows the definitive bearing number that would be great as I am unable to read the bearing number and can not find the evo bearing number listed anywhere and the rev bearing is listed but is bigger than the bearing in our evo.
  18. Have you tried a new plug? Plugs can breakdown under compression!
  19. Sorry make sure the metallic part of plug is touching the cylinder head or some other metallic part of the bike when testing for a spark. Sorry if that is patronising but some times it is easy to assume someone knows and if they don't we could run round in circles for ever.
  20. Yep as said above just unplug kill switch if still no spark reconnect and try a new plug.
  21. May be worth disconnecting your kill switch before you get to involved.
  22. Well done top marks for being original. My son was only enquiring if anyone knows where he can view the photos after riding this excellent event. And all you can say is yes!
  23. Does anybody know where the pictures are from the youth trial

Last try!! Go steady on the stated torque setting. I don't think you will get the 22 Nm as stated without possible damage, it seams a little high!
