1. Jarvis. Not because I think he's best rider in the field this year, but because Malcolm knows every trick in the book...
2. Dabill. With his ability and on a bike that's been proven to do the job on the Scottish the lad could do VERY well.
3. Ben Hemmo. He might be gay, but we shouldn't hold that against him and he does know his stuff when it comes to the Scottish. (He's gonna kill me for this!)
Wiggy - not this year. (He's down on the entry list as riding a 300cc - is that right???) I'd give him this year to find his feet and maybe another year to suss the moors, but I'd place a wager on him winning in 2009. I think best first-timer is in the bag though and a top 10 finish entirely possible.
Totally agree with you Andy, Jarvis without a doubt has the best back-up with Malcolm knowing every book thats ever been wrote with tricks in.
Wiggy not gona have the experience to win this year but he sure gona learn quickly just look who the 2 old hands are he is riding in between, he's got Wayne Braybrook in front and Shirty behind, two that have borrowed some of Malcolm's books of tricks. Can't see any-one touching him for best first-timer.
Whilst it may seem like ages away, I'm making the most of what is a "quiet time" for me in the calendar to plan 2007 and that includes the British world round at Hawkstone
Is it now official that the world round is going to be at Hawkstone again then
Thanks for the offer boofont but will have a car with me think you miss interpreted my original post.
The plan is for all of the group to drive up on the Saturday before, then on the Thursday one is flying home so I will have to drive them to the airport for lunch time to catch their flight home, then hopefully be back around Fort William to catch the last group of sections, which hopfully will be to the north of Fort Bill. (think its usally Chairlift - Fersit day)?
A quick question for all you with local knowledge of the Highlands.
I will be coming up to the SSDT this year but one of my traveling companions cant stay the whole week so is looking to fly home on Thursday so I will be taking them to the airport, Easyjet fly out of Inverness and Glasgow but which woul be the easiest or most reliable airport to use, Inverness is 30 miles closer by my reconing but as I would imagine it is a smaller airport are the flight s more prone to being cancelled.
with Crapcleaner you can see what services are being loaded at startup then google them and see if you need them if not you can disable them.
Also scan for Virus's
Ive been having a few PC problems of late with slow running and been recieving alot of spam also getting message failed e-mails from people I havnt E-mailed, they are coming back to me with the correct domain but have things like XYZ in front of them.
I have been informed by people that its called spoof mail. Ive downloaded all the above and run them in each user on my PC. Can any-one else give any more advice or possibly a web-site that would explain all this adware spyware jargon.
Are all the above programs just removal tools or now I have downloaded them should they block any furthur attacks. Its all very confusing to a computer novice.
Any-one out there know if Andy and R2W are doing there almost live coverage as in recent years or not bothering as its not a world round as unfortunately I wont be there, couldn't talk the missus into going to Sheffield and the Scottish.
I thought there would be more talk and hype about the new format and who's going.
Should be one heck of a show, even better than pervious years now they can run it to suit the spectator.
Not too sure how well the tickets sold as they have still been advertised up untill just before christmas and thought it is usally sold out well in advance, shame if there isn't a good turnout therefore not making it viable if they don't get a world championship round in future.
You have found the venue for the British round of the 2007 world championship, the venue in your picture meets all the requirments plenty of parking, services on site, Mrs Smith at no 3's front room as a Jury and press room, and finally a heap of dirt for sections. Whats the chances of the local Council allowing it you reckon.
Which version of Google Earth are you downloading to view it is it the Beta version. Im having trouble running the file but all the tests it suggests to run prove ok and I can contect to all the servers.
Recently purchased a fantic 200 professional 156cc, it has been played with by Mike Hann? and i'm having trouble getting bits for it. the clutch i bought for a 200 was too small and all the pics of a 200 i've found show the chain drive to be on the left where mine is on the right. Any info would be greatly recieved.
As Nigel says Mike Hann comes from Dorset, many years ago was a Fantic agent. Mike still is a regular face around the South West centre on modern and pre-65 machinery and is chairman of Yeo-Vale MCC and a thoroughly nice guy whom nothing is too much trouble im sure he would be only too pleased to give you any advice. I'll PM you his details.
Having never been to watch the Scott but hoping to one day, what do the top riders do when they ride a section do they wait for the section to be empty before riding it to ensure the correct observation score is given to them or do they just race thru it as soon as they get there, if so how many of there marks are lost because people get in there way or are the majority of marks lost genuine losses.
Isn't there a LDT held at night? The Lands end or something similar?
Yes your right there are actually three a year run by the MCC. The first is run in the first week in January in the South Devon area(The Exeter Trial), the second on Good friday into Easter Saturday and runs around the North Devon and Cornwall area (The Lands End) and the third the first weekend in October in the Derbyshire area(The Edinburgh Trial). The events are based around trail bikes including sidecars and cars as they run over 300-400 hundred miles taking in green lanes and putting the rider in the saddle for anything up to 20 hours. They are great events with a great sense of camaraderie between the competitors.
That Amos can still ride a bit can't he. Bet a few of the Honda men cringed when he cartwheeled it of the big step in section eight at his first attempt.
I think Ivan still rides a bit, the two of them are always about at centre events usally scoring, think they may have been marking a section at the recent West Of England british champ round.
There seemed to be quite a few West Countryites make the 200 mile+ journey to Hawkstone this year.
And The Winner Is?
