    What Gear Do You Use?

Don't worry about using 1st all the time ,i've been to loads of trials where every section required 1st gear.Betas have quite a torquey motor so even in 2nd the bike should be ok in tight sections.Keep practising
  3. Hello TC mmbers-- I have a sherco 290 '05 model with a carb spacer. What does it do? Has anyone out there removed this part ? If so what effect did it have on the bike? Any answers gratefully received
  4. I've got 4 mates ( no-really!)who ride gassers...two have 280 pro's one of them a '05 the other a'04 ,they are a real handful as far as grip is concerned .. virtually unusable at my level of riding (rookie clubman). One other riding buddy has a 250 pro'05... this is less prone to spin up or rear up at you.. much more user friendly. Buddy no.4 has a 300pro'06 which I haven't ridden yet - i've been crocked- and he's put a keihn on it (too wild man!),he says the torque catches you out especially when you are tired There you have it..just an opinion So if someone put a gun to my head and said ''pick a gasser'' you know which one I would go for
  5. Here's a pic of my ' hobby-horse '(She's for sale if anyone is interested--- I know theres a seperate site location for that kind of thing )

    Pilot Jet

I have a 250 -04 sherco and I would like to know what size pilot jet should be fitted as standard ( the carburation is a bit 'blubbery'low down in the rev range, just above idle). It has a 35 in at the moment. P.S. I live in england and not up a mountain!--- Can anyone help ?Thanks.
  9. Talk about asking for trouble! A mate of mine used bolts to fasten the rear mudguard on his montesa (said it was all he could find lying around), with the bolt head underneath. THese bolts were too long and stuck out proud by about an inch. Yes you guessed it he looped the bike on the moors . ripped his pants off(almost) and carved a slot through each inner thigh--lots of claret everywhere.
  10. I got some kitchen drawer- liner from IKEA ( nice shade of sherco blue) .Sorry i dont remember the swedish name for it. It comes in a roll, is about 2/3 mm thick and was only about

Heathy, sorry I havent got a useful contribution to your problem but let us know what the dealer makes of your ' haunted' sherco ?
  12. When you go up a muddy slope and get to the point where you are just about to lose traction{or so it seems}try bending your knees a lot more whilst pulling down and back on the bars{ i think its called getting down into the bike}.Sounds daft but it seems to work well !
