  1. Hi David, if your engine as standard gearing (20t primary sprocket)this is what i would suggest.13t front and 60t rear, this is good starting point. Most 32a and 37a engines go ok with this. All the best Anvil
  2. Hi SJL, if the bike as the orginal standard gearing it will be to high. This is what i would recomend;18t primary gear,13t front and 60t rear sprockets. If the exhaust is the villiers cigar type and its in your way your options are limited, there is a wes available and the front pipe youll have to try villiers services , he will sort you out with your gearing aswell. Ive built 2 9e engines this year and the go well but they have been worked on !! All the best, Anvil

  4. Hi Guys ive seen a couple of these head and barrels at Villiers Services, after giving the barrels a once over the porting is more on the livelier side compared to a 32a barrel ,also they seamed heavier. With how sections are today i dont think it would make much differance, also its a bit of one upmanship as there arent many of these around.I dont know if they still have any at Vale-Onslows in Brum,be worth speaking to them to find out if there was a trials and scrambles kit made. best regards ANVIL
  5. Does anyone know whats happened with the results from last weeks trial.Haven`t seen any yet.
  6. Hi woody dont that bultaco have a canny resemblance to the X-LITE special that Vesty as just built !
  7. Hi Andy those yokes look to be ok ,Alan Whitten said to me sometime ago, that when he approached the commitee about billet yokes the reply to him was; that they should bolt up from the back with a single pinch bolt are ok .Thats why they all look the same, if you have any queries try to speak to Alan or email the secretary or the machine examiner. ps,Andy if you cant dazzle em with brilliance, then baffle em with lots of bull sh**t .it works for me
  8. Hi if you want a bike thats british and different to all the other european makes keep this bike standard.I think that there was around a dozen of these made. Also the villiers based engine in these is good,if it still as the DMW barrel and cylinder head its definatly worth it.The barrel as extra ports giving it more torque .
  9. Hi Plugman.I had the same problem with my 315 ,i did change the clutch friction plates i got them of ebay .Theres a shop that sells after market ones at about £30 +p&p .There up in the north east i forget there name, the guy said they work well and they do .I use the ELF oil i get mine from BVM.I did this change in May of last year,i rode one trial and it was perfect ,the bike was the parked up for six months and i rode it at my local boxing day trial. It started second kick i let it warm up for about one minute pulled the clutch in put in gear and it didnt jump forward ! also i won the trial !! I also think that it is the best trials bike ever made,if montesa remade them again i`d be one of the first in yhe que.Ps ill try some new pegs aswell
  10. Well Done Ross, you deserve it,its been along time coming. Now go and win some more !! All the best to the rest of the team, from Alan
  11. Thanks for the info, i will try those settings and when the bike is runnig right ill let you know how it goes in comparision to the standard dellorto.
  12. Hi does any one know what the settings are required for a 26 mm flat slide carb on a 315. A friend as let me borrow one to try to see the difference in performance against the standard dellorto carb.
  13. My cushdrive on my greeves its starting to show signs of wear, i have spoken to a few people and if you get in touch with AJS motorcycles(Fluff Brown)a cush drive from a gremica hub is almost identical. The only differance is the outside diameter is slightly larger. It will need cutting down. This is after i spoke to Villiers services and this was what he told me.
  14. yes its Jim pickering our local batum specialist. Jim as spent years playing around and making suptle changes to his bike. Its a brilliant light weight bike and very competative. If your interested give him a ring on 07850836571
  15. Hi,if your engine as an iron barrel the tollerance should be around 4 to 5 thou to allow for piston expansion when the engine is at temperature. if you have around 2 thou clearance between the piston and the barrel it could sieze. If you speak to Simon at Nametab he will explain to you the above, also he does a piston of high quality they use the in mx,road race and carting. You shouldnot have any problems with this, ive been using them on my bikes for years and had no trouble at all.
