  1. I'm also going to be there, we are travelling down on the Friday and will be there all day on the saturday. Hunting down those very vital and needed Fantic bits. Really looking forward to an excellent show given the number of interesting bikes advertised to be on show.
  2. Steve, Which model of 200 do you want as there is at least 3 rear wheels fitted to Fantic 200's, on rear kick models they had full widith hubs to start with then went to conical hubs and finally in 84 they fitted the same rear wheel as the 240 which I believe has a different brake plate.
  3. Hi, What shocks are about for the TY80? I have seen some Betors, are they any good? or what else is there. Thanks Martin
  4. Hi, I require a headsteady for a 1989 305 mono fantic. do you have one lying arround or if some-one could make a template of thiers i could get one made up. My bike came with out one and I can see were it locates on the frame but not on to the cylinder head. Thanks in advance

    Fm 350

Fantic did produce a forward kick 200 or rather it was done in the uk. I was actually a 125 with the 156 barrel and head fitted to it and not a sleeved down 240. They were produced about 1983-85 then replaced with the 201. Mike Hann who was a Fantic dealer at the time did a few mods to them (heavier flywheel & 240 side cover). I currently have one in my shed which is this winter's project.
  6. I emailed his club and he called me back yesterday. he was very helpful and answered all of my questions etc. Just another Fantic lover and a good guy. Once you start with Fantic you just can not get away from them. Now I just need to find someone with a 200 barrel and head for sale. Thanks for all of your help
  7. Hello, As I want to convert my 84 125 Professional to a 156 and then to make it as good as possible. I believe Mike Hann used to do a few mods to these bike and I would love to speak to him direct so I could make the upgrade he recommends. I think he added an extra wieght to the flywheel and remachined the head plus one or two other bits. You can either use my home e-mail address m_pennycook@hotmail.com or reply here would be great. Thanks

    125 To 156

I have just bought a 125 forward kick Fantic twin shock, which I now want to make into a 200 model. What other parts do I require apart from the barrel, piston and head is it possible to remachine the squish in the head instead of getting one off a 200, if so what are the dimension etc. Any help with flywheel wieghts, carb settings, and igniton setting would be greatfully received. Finally what about the exhaust. Note this bike has the Fantic engine and not the Minerelli one. I believe Mike Hann used to modify these bikes back in the 80's, does anyone have the details of what he did to them Thanks
  9. I have about 20 old bike magazines from the 1980-90's each has an article on pre-65 bikes, Greeves, matchless's a few on cubs including one cub that won the pre-65 scottish etc. They are free to anyone who wishes to collect them or pay the postage( they are quite heavy). give me a call if you want them. 07921 786 450 P.s I live in Fife, Scotland. Have fun
  10. Looking for some other methods to try. I can not get any pressure at the lever on my 06 SY250. The pistons are moving freely. I've checked all the rubber seals including the small between both halfs of the caliper. There are no fluid leaks anywhere. I have back bleed the system using a siringe. I have remved the lever and used a screwdriver to push the mastercylinder piston as recommended by Nigel Birlett. Help please as I'm struggling on what to try next
  11. Is your insurance company prepared to insure your bike on the frame number, as my insurance company will not do this anymore. Can the group recommend any companies to go to. I need a group policy to cover my KTM200, Scorpa SY, Fantic 205, Yamaha SRX660 and Harris Matchless. It is the Fantic and Scorpa that need registering. Thanks
  12. Are Scorpa doing any changes etc for 07, are they even still making them for 07 or is it only four strokes next year. Anybody heard anything?

    Fantic 300

Hi and well done finding one I used a 300 for a number of seasons, overall a great bike I fitted mine with falcons, Used the ignition off a 305 which slims the bike down by over 1.5" at the ignition, side you also need the later engine covers. I fitted the forks and disc also. I would look out for the top yoke if you aim to keep the drum brake as it will improve the riding position. Other than that put the bike on a diet as they are quite heavy. I also lowered the gearing and ran 2 head gaskets which helped with the power delivery. Other than that just have fun.

    Fantic 205

After almost 12months without a fantic I have just "treated" myself to a nice little 205 model. Has anyone owned one before? are there any weak points , mods etc I should do/look out for. Thanks
  15. I've had a couple of Fantic stanchions rechromed by a company called HCS, you find them in the back of a Motor Cycle News. They were excellant the surface is slightly duller in appearance but the chrome is much tougher. I think it was about
  16. Is anyone making flat sump guards for pre 2006 Scorpa's or how much is a one from a 2006 bike?. Thanks
  17. Did you get you overheating Scorpa sorted? If so what was the problem? thanks
  18. First one on Monday and the second one on Friday morning Both replaced with std pegs. I fitted the trialcast ones when I got back home. Tip for Scorpa lads fit some other pegs or carry spares in long distance events. It hurts like hell riding all day standing on the footrest bracket. Other than that the bike is great.
  19. Hi I've fitted a set to my 03 model 250sy and they went on with out any mods and feel good. I managed to break a couple of the alloy foot pegs. shazsdad
  20. The most likely cause is worn teeth and or the dogs on 1st and second gears. The only way to tell is to open up the gearbox Any of the later model fantics 301 to 309 ( also the 212, 156 & 125 bikes, eg 245 ) will give you a much better front brake If you can get the complete front end from a 305 series. Not only do you get a better brake but also the handlebar mounts are further forward, giving a more comfortable position and it is lighter as well. I hope this helps Martin
  21. I have only owned a Scorpa for a few monthes but any spares or assistance than I've needed they have been excellent. I wish them well in whatever they do next. I wonder who will be doing the support at the Scottish for scorpa this year?

    What Is It?

It looks like the rolling chassis from a RTX trails bike of the early 1990's Should have a Russian engine of 125-212cc fitted. They were sold cheaply about then as a starter bike. Then again I could be wrong Martin
  23. As someone new to owning a scorpa 250 2003 model. Whats are the hot set-up for the compression/rebound on the front and rear surspension. Any recommended jetting changes, plug grade etc. any problems to look out for. Do you recomend any mods for its early May scottish holiday. Already fitted water pump guard and YOU HAVE USED WORDS OR A PHRASE WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THIS WEBSITE. PLEASE DELETE YOUR POST/TOPIC. DO NOT TRY TO CIRCUMVENT THE FILTERS IN PLACE ON THIS WEBSITE mud flap and engine guard ( stops crap going under radiator onto plug) Or is the answer just ride the thing! Thanks
  24. hi, One less rider for Fantic and one more for Scorpa. I was aiming to use the Fantic again but decided to have a go with something a bit more modern. It will be interesting to see how I feel at the finish ( fingers crossed ) this year. I had plenty to do on the twin shock last year. Martin
