  1. Wow, Tons of bits are missing, 'projects' fetch more money than the sum of the parts!
  2. If you do a search on here, a guy did fit the newer mudguard to an earlier bike. When you see what was involved, it is easier to sell the bike & buy a newer one!!
  3. How did things go? Was it mega muddy? We have a trial there in two weeks time just wondered how the sections were and did you get a good turn out inc observers? On the middle route it was probably the hardest trial I've done in 10 years! But it rained all day, so just riding around became tough the drop down to get to section 10 caught a few out! I saw the very experienced elderly 'mudmaster' going backwards and many experts lobbing bikes. The sections that were down hill rode ok & the ones in the stream were ok. Did 2 laps & spat the dummy out. Wish now I had carried on, well done to those who stuck at it. Thanks to the observers for standing out in it & all organisers - for what can be a thankless task at times.
  4. Not wanting to go off the theme of your post, but riders observing - that can fill a few pages of rants! How many times have you picked up the board and next rider is a kid, you let him through & he doesn't come back, then his dad appears 'sorry mate got to catch up with me son' So you turn round & a queue has built up who think you are the observer! At OTF's club they tend to put board at the ends card so you can hand the board over before they ride off! The only problem is the riders are that old, non of them can see small print, They need to put a pair of spec's with the board!
  5. Yep bo, I think this 2nd bike is a Yam framed majesty. Sold for

    yamaha ty250

For details/story of majesty Yam do a search on here. Tons of info & pics. Very basically a different frame. Tend to be ridden by gentlemen over 40. Who are trying to relive their youth, They end up chucking loads of money at them!!

    yamaha ty250

Chav TY's usually are painted all black, have a mx rear mudguard fixed at 45 degrees Massive mx back tyre, no silencer or airfilter fitted. They tend to be ridden in housing estates and the seller's description will claim it has fitted ...........powerbands to each gear!!!

Hi if you are in the UK, prices for a complete bike vary a lot. A complete project recently went for
  11. Yep, you cannot buy skill, I usually get beat on my Ty by a chap older than me on a..... rigid bantam!
  12. Off topic, I looked at one of the well known Yorkshire bantams. From the photo, my guess on 'rules'/ spot the difference 1.Redesigned frame, curved or fixed lower top tube, 2.No bottom tube 3. subframe altered/ narrowed.4.Engine lifted/tilted 5.swinging arm altered both width & length. 6.Tilted shocks 7. Billet yokes 8. Ty mono forks in Norton lowers.9. Redesigned new wheels .10 Fuel tank 11. Tons more mods..... Haha, like a majesty with a bsa sticker on it - no, atleast a majesty is 30 years old!
  13. So a fail/5 before you got out of the van! Didn't think wrestling the Yam around bracken rocks was going to be easy - without the ice. No spannering tonight, beer it is then.
  14. The 250 forks are a little bigger diameter than the 175's. It's a common mod that helps stops flex & improves steering. The wheel & brake are the same on 175 & 250. Do a search on here for improvements & mods, plenty to do. Get some good shocks, full alloy exhaust & improve airbox - will help make it competitive. One was being ridden well at The Peak Trial. It was good test for a modern bike!
  15. I may be corrected here, the Ty kato bikes were, developed in Japan, and were extensively modified. These alterations helped in the building of the Ty mono. The bike have a slim profile with altered frames, tank, seat, exhaust, leading link fork. 250 engines are yamaha ow factory.
  16. Just to add the, is it or isn't it question Yam Ty175 kato on fleabay at moment -
  17. Thanks for those links! Are the reeds you use for a TY250 or are they from another bike that fit?

    New Greeves

Ah yes a quality light weight swinging arm if I'm correct? Will be ok, you won't notice it after a few events - packed full of mud! or is it a nice cutting edge for your boots/ankle. GasGas will be taking taking notes.
  19. A nice bike, Majesty tank, re located shock mount, MAJESTY sticker..... but, If you look at the close up photo of the engine, there is a gap above the spart plug, on the majesty the ht cap is tight up against the frame, - even though shirty cut out that part of the frame, The front down tubes are bent back on a majesty, this one has straight tubes. Also, on a majesty, the main spine of the frame almost touches the back of the carb. Only slight differences between a ty & a majesty - but a lot of work if you were to try & copy it! ....... a fake
  20. Well fancy that, just leave a rare & very expensive honda under a bit of sheet in a barn and forget about it. Oh yes, it happens all the time...... on fleabay!
  21. Have a word with kev at gasgas UK, he sorts them But then again its an enemy bike he might mend it with a sledge hammer!
  22. Sorry to hear butty van was not viable. Alan Whitton came down looking for you.
  23. Good trial, good sections. The number riding looked a little less than previously. No spares van & no butty van !
  24. It's at eadonsfield or gasscroft wood, on the Dronfield to Barlow road. I bet your bike will be mucky when you have finished tomorrow!
