  1. The OSET does give you a number of advantages. You can lift and carry them with few problems as you do not have fuel in the Tank or oil in the box. The other advantage is that the law sees them as a toy. Hence you can ride them anywhere.
  2. Yeadon Guiseley will be running a round of the Yorkshire Centre Championship on the 21st November Start 10:30. All Adult and Youth Classes including Conducted and Electric will be run on the day. The ADULT course will require Road Work so all bikes on that course will need to comply with the RTA. Insurance is available but check the regs on the site as it is limited. Youths will negotiate a course at Addingham Moorside.
  3. I know a few that have/had them. They are a bit "marmite" some riders swear by them others think they are too slow/fast after the initial turn.
  4. Sherco. He's in the Team that won the Manufacturers Trophy.
  5. The last Club Championship trial of the year will be held at Dob Park at 1PM. There are road works consisting of traffic lights affecting the Bridge over the Wharfe in Otley. Hence please allow extra time to get to Dob Park if you are using this route.
  6. I doubt it would be a problem given I saw a number of Bikes at a recent national been moved about in that manner.
  7. Well could we have an idea of the venue so we can see if it's possible to carry the bikes between the groups. It's the first time for years "roadwork" has been required and it was a big disappointment to have to turn down our club's request due to it. I'm pretty certain other's couldn't run either due to this requirement.
  8. Looks like they have used either the 2010 frame or used it as a template as the plastics are of the "old" pattern. Should still be a cracking bike and a rival for the Beta 80. http://www.gasgasmotos.es/en/trial/349-txt-cadet-80-cc.html
  9. Don't suppose we could have the Trial without roadwork this time. Stopped a couple of riders from competing.
  10. Appears that the Team Trial was a wash out. CofC had to cancel the Trial an hour after starting due to river levels being too high. Here in Leeds the weather has been so bad I saw a number of Floods on the road. One in Horsforth looks like it has totalled a car the owner had parked outside his house!
  11. Looks like the tubular frame has been down sized for this years Small wheel bike. Could this finally be a competitor for the Little Beta's???
  12. Ahhh!! you use the AKI index. As for The testing differs mainly in the engine revs used(900 instead of 600RPM), and variable timing rather than variable compression. Hence it is seen as a better gauge of "knocking" resistance when an engine is under load.
  13. Firstly the USA uses MON not RON on their petrol so you cannot directly compare fuels between Europe and the US. Secondly the ACU allows the use of fuels up to 102 RON. This is because fuel is available at the pump in Europe. Not many places in europe but it is available. Lastly most bikes have a sticker recommending the use of fuels of 98RON or above. "Standard" unleaded is 95 RON. Tesco sell Momentum which is 99RON and Shell sell V-Power at 99RON. Most other's sell 97 RON fuel. If you use "standard" unleaded you are using fuel that the manufacturers do not recommend. It does not mean it will not run. It just won't run properly.
  14. Main Course was won by Becky Cook ahead of Emma Bristow Joanne Coles was a Non-Starter. A class winner Hannah Styles B Class Nikita Smith C/D Maisie Payne Ladies Intermediate Winner was Robyn Alderson Full Results on Horsforth Web Site .
  15. Electric Winner was Henry Stephenson D Small Wheels Oliver Smith D Medium Zac Collinson And C Class Sam Yeomans Joe Faunthorpe retired due to a Broken Finger so nobody is sure who is D class Medium Wheel champion. Full results on Horsforth Web Site
  16. Yorkshire centre has a thriving set of juniors at the moment. So much so that two extra clubs are putting on "Conducted courses" to cater for them. The "conversion" factor is trickier. Getting them out onto the Main course although again that seems to be getting better at the moment. As for running easier Trials, it seems to be that if a club has a Tricky hard course and a easy Main with a 50/50 course as well it seems to pull in the riders.
  17. Depends really. We've been out and about since about 2002 and numbers vary year to year. At the Moment it's not too bad with at least 40 riders at most trials dependant on Holidays and Weather. Clubs like Ripon running easier trials can get over 100 easily. We were at the Charity Trial at Back Cowm and at 108 riders turned up. So many I missed a couple of other "Yorkies" we normally see at Trials, (Hi Ian ). On the other foot we've "lost" the Craven club recently. The original people who ran the club moved on and they couldn't find enough members to "run" the club.
  18. Just check the "Places to Ride" Forum. There are not loads of places but you can easily reach most of them from where you are.
  19. Just Noticed the News on Sheffield includes the fact that some riders are changing bikes next year. Anybody got the Inside track on rider contracts??
  20. The Next Round of the YG Novice Beginners series will be held At Addingham Moorside at 2pm on Saturday the 11th of September. Usual Courses including a Conducted for the Small Wheelers(E Class accepted with a separate easier course if needed). For further details see the Yeadon Guiseley Website.
  21. Regs and details are now available from the Yeadon Guiseley website. The Trial will be run on the 26th September and will start at the Pateley Bridge Auction Mart and will include sections at Brimham Rocks. Solo entries are welcome. Please have your entries in by the 21st to guarantee your place on the start line.
  22. I know of a venue where the problem is idiots using it as a dump!!! The place is locked up but they break the lock and get in. It's a fact that whatever you do if it's close to houses the local "yobs" and I include all ages in this, (some pensioners behaviour is despicable on this front), just seem to think they can do anything they like with the land. The only solution is to photograph them doing it and get the council and Police involved.
  23. The Frame colour Pot only comes with the new ones since they went gold. I was shown them at TUK when they came out and again at TUK with this years bikes.
  24. Don't know the Engine colour but you should have received a pot of the frame colour when you bought it.
