I've just posted and interview with Vito Ippolito, FIM President to the front page of TC. With regard to Trials he says:

"In the case of Trial, the work of our Marketing & Communications Department has contributed to improve media coverage but the industry is suffering from a lowering market, which has an impact on these championships. We have consulted all the parties involved and we are currently working on important modifications of the technical and sporting rules. Moreover, we must continue our work with the National Federation and the governments concerned in order to create spaces reserved for Trial riding. "

Just so I get this Dynamic trials thing right and after reading MR's comments, there will be no minders at all then?

If thats the case then the big elements in the sections that they ride now will no doubt have to be eased significantly! Therefore yes it would allow more of the slightly lesser riders be able to ride them, but surely all it would do is dum down the skills of the very top riders and potentially letting a lesser rider win just on something like an inadvertent stop and dropping a five?

Thats what happens in the trials that most of us ride then!

Very good point about pressure on observers, this is even worse when punchcards are used as the riders can see their score immediately after riding a section & argue the toss about it.

The sections should simply be set out so there is NO NEED to stop/reverse. Big climbs, grassy banks, slippery becks etc are your friends :D

Best rider on the day wins "everybody knows that!" (Quote: Zippy from Rainbow)

Hey didn't somebody (or many people) go into this no minder stuff before...

I vote no minders! (oh and let them fix their own bikes too)

Make way for trials that people can relate to! Dynamic Shmynamic whatever! This will promote sales, but anyway why should mere riders worry about bike sales?.... cue more bikes sold = lower prices (ho ho ho).... likely not the case, even though it should be.

Less servere sections means more land avilable... less revving the borlix off the bikes = less noise issues = more land available.
