Italjets

Featured Replies

Hi guys, think we all agree it's about time us Italjet lovers had their own forum and not have to troll through trying to find answers, let's get as many pics up as poss? And well done Petermac for getting this forum started, Cheers Russell

OK here's some for starters.

May 1985. If memory serves this was the 1st trial I did on the new to me Italjet. I think the hill climb turned out to be a 4th gear blast - 3rd just wasn't enough.. I quite liked the green with the white mudguards and replaced the pattern ones on here then with some proper, almost square section Italjet ones from somewhere in Colchester that was a dealer for them back then.

Maybe interesting for someone that will rebuild a later Piuma, some pic's of my 350cc.

When new:

Some month later, the day was cloudy, fitted the bike with lights again for a longer ride when I remember right:

Brings back memories,had a 250 in 83 and 350 in 84.

Did the SSDT and the Scott on them and at the time thought they were great.

A local lad was the dealer and gave me loads of help,in fact I think I optimistically entered a World round in Yorkshire on one,

Never gave much bother, though the points ignition was a worry.

Preferred the 250,but when the mono Yams came the writing was on the wall.

Great job on the restoration,my pal has a similar 350 which I think he sourced in Austrailia.

Think I would struggle to ride one now.

All the best.

i think i might struggle to ride it too, need to take another photo without the bright sunlight, the frame looks dark in the last ones

Nice restoration job . Glad to see you didnt scrimp on fitting new tyres like so many do.

I dont know much about Italjets , but is that a bultaco front end?

Thank you for the pictures of the bikes, the Italjet's have always been beautiful looking bikes, they just ring "Trials" to me.
