November 12, 200520 yr this is most probably due to sh@99ed steering headbearing. just goes to show that you should always maintain your bikes, lucky the lad wasnt hurt.
November 12, 200520 yr Looking at those photo's it looks like the bottom yoke pinch bolts have not been tight enough making the top yoke take all the weight, most of it will have been on the nut that holds the top yoke on.
November 14, 200520 yr What year is it? From the photo looks like it is an 02.DFW <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Its an 03 I think. Got to check those bolts, they do come loose. Should really check all of them every now and then. I found some loose on the engine before. Edited November 14, 200520 yr by boofont
November 14, 200520 yr My first thoughts upon seeing the photos was that the three bolts on each side of the lower yoke were possibly overtightened causing a stress fracture. The yokes on a Scorpa are machined from billet alloy and not forged and are quite thin around the fork legs.
