November 17, 20169 yr guys are they easy to fit? Dose the lighter fly wheel cause any issues. I mean is It a direct fit? Also do you need a different fly wheel. Puller?
November 17, 20169 yr Mine was a direct fit. Just follow the instructions. Even the ignition timing was fairly correct when I mounted it according to the instructions, only a minor adjustment was needed because I'm a perfectionist. The flywheel came with a suitable puller included. And the lighter flywheel is an advantage in my books; it makes the engine more responsive.
November 17, 20169 yr It was about 1kg lighter than the original, so about 2kg It looks exactly like this one: https://www.powerdynamo-shop.com/shop/show_product.php?products_id=680
November 18, 20169 yr On the electrex can you set the timing? I like mine at 2.8btdc is this possible?
November 19, 20169 yr You may move the ignition plate in slotted holes, but for precise adjustments I guess you need a strobe light. Mine is set accordingly to their spec and my bike runs well. See https://www.dropbox.com/s/zcfoxs3bbdzit58/STK-154.pdf?dl=0
November 20, 20169 yr You may move the ignition plate in slotted holes, but for precise adjustments I guess you need a strobe light. Mine is set accordingly to their spec and my bike runs well. See https://www.dropbox.com/s/zcfoxs3bbdzit58/STK-154.pdf?dl=0 So do you know what the btdc is?
November 22, 20169 yr I have not checked it with a strobe but it should be close to 10 degrees at idle (Electrecx World spec) . I don´t know the C-C length of the conrod but if I asssume it is 1.8 times the stroke (60mm) that would be 0,6mm btdc increasing to 23 degrees (3.0mm btdc) at full advance.
December 9, 20169 yr Just fitted mine from Bultaco uk. £220 overnight courier. Plug and play, just needed a bracket and kill switch wired. Cured all my problems so very happy.
December 14, 20169 yr guys how dose the flywheel fit on the crank with no woodruff key? My flywheel did have a woodruff key slot.
December 14, 20169 yr Oh on reading the germane introduction It says the woodruff isn't needed? Says it has a cone I don't like the idea off that if I was to buy 1 I think id get mine from the same place has you.
December 14, 20169 yr I've used ignitions like this on numerous bikes, racing and trials for many years. Never had a problem setting them up without a Woodruff key. Never had one come loose or move.
December 14, 20169 yr Electrex ignition for Bultaco use original Femsa flywheel so it´s a key. It just take 1- 1,5 hour to assemble and get the bike running.
