The silencer on my pro is fitted with a 3mm stainless wear plate on the inside , during a trial i had bashed the exhaust inwards and worn through it So i picked up the phone to one of my customers who put the plate on in the first place , told him the story and said i needed it back for the trial this weekend , our driver dropped it off and half an hour later the guy was on the dog n bone to tell me it was done "wow thats ace " i said i got it collected and not only have they done a top notch job they have also polished it to a high sheen ! all done free of charge due to the good service we give them !! Hi Folks, the place where I ride is very muddy at the moment. I, as an off road novice, find the mud very disconcerting. Is there a technique for dealing with mud? Am I doing it right by just (trying) to relax my grip and just constantly correcting the steering as it slews left to right? I tend to let the speed drop right off but I've read about crossers and Paris-Dakar types going faster in these situations to dig in the rear and lift the front out but I have a mental block about trying this particular technique. What sort of tyre pressures should I be running? Bear in mind that I'm just learning/trying and not competing. That lot should keep you …

I've been considering buying something to get the bike up to a height where I don't have to crawl about on the floor fettling. Looking through some of the pics on some clubs websites i'm amazed and horrified how many people compete without wearling a crash helmet. Hi folks, I've had no response from the Beta forum so I'll try here instead. My '97 Techno has no cut out switch. I want to fit one or maybe a lanyard switch. I know they only have two wires (having fitted a new one to my lads crosser) but I don't know which wires to chop into on the Beta. Any ideas?

After 3 years on a Beta, I have decided to change to an 05 Gas Gas. The problem is I don't know which model, 250, 280 or 300. I am looking for something which is good in mud and will grip and not just spin out. Can anybody give me any guidance - thanks

I have an 01 model that I was thinking of making road legal. How easy would it be to get an M.O.T. Will a Trials bike with no lights still pass as long as it has a horn and speedo and is otherwise mechanically sound? Anybody got any recent experience of this and what are the pitfalls?

I know rear brake bleeding has been done to death recently, but I'm not sure that this is a bleeding problem: Since replacing the pads on my Rev3, I've had a very long rear brake. It still works, but needs to be depressed almost the entire available travel before it bites. My first reaction was that I'd managed to somehow get some air into the system, probably while pushing the pistons back into the calipers so I've bled it for (literally) hours and I'm pretty confident that there's no air in there. How hard is it to change the fork seals on a 02 beta by a complet novice mechanic bleeding brakes is about my limit. what technique how do i split the forks. any special tools. Or do i just chuck it at my local bike shop and tell them to sort it.

After reading Timp's health warning on breathing exhaust fumes while waiting to ride a section, I also think the possible health risks that are taken by those who wear the one piece riding suits, and how in the future in could have an effect on breeding new trials blood. Hello, im 16 (17 in May) and i ride an 03 250 SHERCO. As far as im aware i can continue to ride a 250 without getting caught up in all this 125 nonsense! But yesterday i rode a 290 and loved it to bits and im just wondering how old do i have to be to ride anything over a 250??? I would like it to be 17...but i don't think it is...so could anybody tell me what are the exact rules are to riding 125/250/290 at 16/17...because i'm want to get an 05 soon and not sure if i can get a 290 (and put 250 stickers on!!!) or just get another 250.
