Hi, need a bit of advice about the potential value of 2 bikes in the UK. I have 1) a 2004 model Gasgas TXT250 Pro (blue) 2) a 2002 model (but actually sold Aug 2003) TXT50 Boy Both are practically unused and in absolutley new condition - the little one has just been around the local firestation's carpark a few times(err 3 times I think), and the bigger one just used for 1 day practice on grass. Due to an existing arm injury, the difficulty of doing trials here in Switzerland & impending redundancy I'm on the verge of selling them, and just wondered whether I'd be better off selling them in the UK. Can someone give me an idea of what I might get for them in the …

Decided to try a trials bike to use for trail riding after selling many conventional trail/mx bikes. I was sick of wrestling bulky over-engineered bikes in the tight woods that i like to ride. After one ride, im hooked. I cant understand why more people havn't caught on. Have to up the tyer pressure to save the rims with trials tyers, at the cost of traction. Might be better off with nobbies in the forrests, No?

Have you had good or bad experiences with your new bikes? Which manufactorers really are the worst for Quality control! With regards to having a problem it must have warranted you returning bike to dealer or spending an hour or more rectifying.

Just wanted to see if any other 4RT owners have noticed what I did after I changed the stock gearing. I have heard from several sources how Montesa radically decreased the old 4-stroke braking effect by giving the engine a shot of fuel when throttle is closed. When I first rode the bike with the stock gearing that braking effect was pretty much gone. Since I felt the 41 tooth was a little tall for my riding style, I changed to a 44 tooth, which I like a lot, however, guess what is back. The old 4-stroke braking effect, when I let off the throttle in first. It really doesn't bother me that much, but, I was wondering if anyone else had made note of it.

Can anyone tell me why you cant just buy a riding shirt off anyones websites, and you have to ring up the shop directly, it seems silly to me, I've looked at numerous sites but can't find any you can order off the web, if you go to any of the push iron cyclo sites, you can order on-line. P.s got my trialsworld friday, I thought it was rather good, lets hope it stays that way.

Topic of the month this one eh? Put a new rim tape on the rear, had no faith in the other one. I can't get it to sit flat against the wheel, its all tucked in the groove but the tape is bulging out as if there's air trapped underneath! Has this happened to any one else? It did the same on the last one and I've had two full attempts at re-fitting this tape too! Its begining to wind me up!

Due to incompetent spannering, I've broken the upper yoke on my Rev-3 (right down the middle of the pinch bolt hole). Is this repairable? Could it be welded and the hole retapped or am I looking at a forking over a huge pile of melvins for a replacement casting? My bike maintenance fund is somewhat depleted of late so I'm pursuing every alternative before making a call to John Lampkins... all advice appreciated!

Hi, I'm a new found convert to the sport and would like to take it up. Apart from the obvious method of just buying a bike and practising somewhere on my own, are there any schools around that run courses, or riders that offer one-on-one tuition. I live in the Derbyshire area. Cheers,

What is the difference between tubeless and tube type tires? I'm ordering a set of X-11's for my KTM 200 and they are available in either style. Of course I must use tubes in the KTM. I know the Montesa I have uses tubeless rear and tubed front but I don't know why. Just curious, thank you. Bill.

I want to anodize the rims of my sherco and have seen that you can get anodized look paint which looks like a cheaper way to do it, I also wanted to get anodized bolts on my bike but I have found that anodized bolts are usually very soft and break easily. By spraying the original bolts I would save money and stop this problem. I have seen anodized paint here but it only tells you where you can buy it in america. Where can I buy it here and how much does it cost?

I could use some advice, I have a new 05 beta that started with a very slow air leak. I used some water and soap to find the problem area, and discovered that about half of the spokes are leaking air very slowly through the top of the nipple! I've never seen anything like this before, although i have heard that tubeless tires do leak small amounts of air. I tightened the spokes a bit using a spoke wrench, some of which were very loose. I was careful not to overtighten, just to make sure each had a nice 'ping' when you tapped it with the wrench. The problem has gotten worse. The tire has gone completely flat in 2 days. I don't think there is any leak from the tire itself. …

I have a Gas Gas TXT 2001. It has recently developed a single sharp tap/knock after the throttle is blipped. I have owned the bike for three years and it has never done this until this year. I have never heard the knock at any other throttle position or time (load/no load) when riding. I run normal unleaded with motul synthetic at 75ml per 5 litres. I appreciate that at this age the engine is likely to need some TLC I just want some idea of the likely cause and the size/cost of the repair job.

Hi Picked up a new Mont 4RT the other day. Yesterday I changed the oil filter and replaced the engine oil as per owners manual. Started the bike afterwards no problem. Just gone to start the bike again and can't get it going at all. Any ideas on what to try to get it going again? Cheers Muffin

Can anybody explain how bolts are measured? I want to get rid of the 5 phillips bolts on the rear mudguard and the 3 phillips head bolts that hold the middle box and rear silencer on (05 Beta). I want to order them online and don't want to end up with the wrong ones being delivered. Obviously, bolts/screws come with different head types: - hex, allen, phillips, slot etc. Length of bolt isn't a problem as I can measure the original ones. I'm struggling to find out the bolt diameter and thread type Any suggestions? Cheers
