Just want to get a feel from the world trials community what they think. If someone had a gas tank off an 05 Montesa 4RT that was signed by all three of the factory riders, Fugi, Dougie and Marc Frexia, is it worth more than a stock tank. Obviously, it would be a little more valuable to a big Hon-tesa owner/fan. Assuming a replacement cost of about 550 bucks American, what do you think someone would pay for it? By the way, I'm not selling it. I'm just curious if it is as valuable as some are trying to convince me it is. p.s. Picture of said tank under Montesa thread. Thanks

Is anyone else a little disappointed with TrialsWorld magazine now that it's been around for 4 months or so? It seems to be almost content-less with acres of advertising and reprints of 70s brochures and the like which, while interesting, give the impression that they're only there to pad the page count. Even the "proper" articles consist of huge photos with just a few lines of text squashed into a corner of each page. The bike tests are typical TMX fare being superficial and sycophantic and the classified ads at the back are utterly pointless (as will always be the case with monthly publications). I was looking forward to more incisive product reviews, second hand buye…

Trying to re-wire a bike with cdi ignition junking the battery & switches etc. Got a wiring diagram but as yet, no spark..... Found the ignition wire from the generator and it is producing voltage when kicked over. Found the 2 wires from the pulse from the generator Connected these up to the cdi box, there is an output to the LT side of the coil but it is less than the output directly from the generator (going to get a digital multimeter so I can measure it accurately) Question. Is there a way to test the CDI box? What should the output voltage be at the LT wire? Should the voltage be different from the generator and the output of the CDI?? Andy.

Well London have done it and won the Olympics. How about lobbying the London committee for a trial to be added to the competitions. If I understand the Olympics the organisering country can apply to have new sports added. With the UK being the home of trials and having a multiple world champion in it midst surely it would be concidered. This post ties in with the various other post looking for recognision of Mr Lampin at things like the BBC sport personality. If a UK rider were to win an Olympic medal (Doug may to out of the running by 2012) surely the sport would get the recognision it deserves. Does anyone have any contacts on the London bid committee?

I am going to the French 4 Day on June 14th. Does anyone know what paperwork i need to take with me, eg insurance documents, v5 etc? I understand the bike needs working lights also. How strict are they on this? Am very much looking forward to my first trial abroad and dont want to spoil it by not having all the necessary documents. Also does anyone know if any spares will be available at the start?

Duck today again in my GG frontsuspension as i am not yet satisfied with its behavior. It seems that the adjuster on top for the rebound can't do its job as i feel i am missing a crucial part inside. The missing part is the aluminium rod that sits inside the cartridge pushrod. When i look at exploded views of the 2005 suspension the alu-rod is there but in the 2002 and 2003 views there is no. I am aware of the difference in brands but the suspension is more or less the same. Anyone out there who knows more about it. The problem is that the rebound is only working the last 30mm and i hope that with the alu-rod the whole stroke is tunable.

I have a Fantic 240 & a 301 both of which are recomended to run on 2% premix ratio, but this ratio is based on the 2 stroke oils available 20 years ago when the bikes were new. How lean can I go with the amount of modern fully synthetic oil without causing any damage?

Hi Anyone taken apart a hot start system on their 4 stroke Enduro/MX? How big is the jet(?) that allows air into the intake manifold? Can you see any pipework externally, if so what size is it? Does the engine run (fast) with the hot start in use or do you close it as soon as the engine fires? Any info would be usefull.. cheers

Congratulationns to Doug and Nicola on the birth of Alfie. I think you got the name Alfie... perfect. Wayne, Keanu or Ronan just wouldn't have had the right ring to it.
