Has anyone got any suggestions to get the bottom bearing off the yoke spindle on a 125 gasser. Ive got it in the freezer at the moment and then will try heating the bearing and see if it will move. I havent got any type of puller that will fit so having to knock about with a drift and hammer.

Ocassionally, riding as we do in the rocks etc. we come up with bent rim flanges. Dean has a pretty good one at the moment. Straightening with a hammer always seems to work harden and crack them prior to them getting where you want them. Straightening in the press is always a challenge to get it set up and held. I have had fairly good luck pulling them back into shape with a 15" crescent. I have also just left them alone and not had problems with them. Anyone have experience's good or bad about leaving them alone and maybe the pro's and con's of that?

With the lighter evenings now upon us, i wonder how often do people practise every week? We usualy go out between two and four times in the week, starting around 6.45pm and go home when its to dark to see. Some times in the summer we don't leave untill 10.20. If there isn't a trial we would do about 4 hrs on Sat & Sunday, our lads practise hard, we have catchers, and reqular trips to the hospital. We are lucky enough to have lots of lads with simular abilitys in our area, and this makes practise so much more interesting Sam Conner told us the top boys do about 2hr per day.

Is it OK to use Iridium Spark Plugs in my 04 290 Sherco? I was thinking of trying the NGK BPR5EIX 6597 Iridium IX, but wanted to check first incase it does something horrible to my engine!

What methods do you use to remove the wheel bearings? I am interested as I was told the bearing puller is expensive so I made an expandable drift that I put through one of the bearings and then tap a tapered drift into the end which spreads it enough to locate on the inner race and with some some mild tapping, the bearing comes out I made it out of a small piece of 20mm Dia. mild steel and cost around

Seen a number of lads bikes with anodise wheels lately. I think they are smart. In time is everone going to have these and are they going to become a way to personalise your bike with the different colours? I like blue.

can some body tell me how the power band on mxer's work? and do trials bikes have a smooter version of these to make them grip better?

Besides the obvious environmental issues, are there any drawbacks to running leaded fuel in a trials bike? I've been looking for higher octane fuels in my area and the only stuff above 92 is some 100 octane leaded that I stumbled across. Of course I won't be running it, but it got me thinking...is leaded fuel bad for a trials bike? All I can think of is, there's no catalytic converter to muck up, so theoretically, I suppose it's probably better for it than unleaded (again, not that I'm going to run it in my Beta).

We'd been riding for a good couple of hours when events started to take what would eventually turn out to be a worrying and dangerous turn: Steve: "Ian, your bike sounds funny mate." Ian: "Funny? Just being nosey.... Mine was just after i started riding, I was at a trial with the Huddersfield Falcons on my Twin shock Bultaco. Going round a tree at the top of a steep decent, sharp left turn downhill. Just as I went over a large tree root the front wheel went onto full lock and started to go end over end. I just lept upwards and grabbed a branch as the bike went down the banking flipping about 4 times. I was left dangling at the top and all the bike got was a broken clutch lever! There was no way I was going down there with it and the people at the botton were left laughing at me hanging in the tree!

Anyone know of any decent books on carb tuning? I twist the odd screw here and there, to get mine running how it should, but I would actually like to know what I am doing!

Hi all This Saturday is Lisburn and districts Youth Training Day which is being held up at Glenside Quarry, Dundrod. It starts at 11 with a training session in the morning and then a trial in the afternoon. We are hopeing the weather will hold out and the event is well attended. Thanks
