How long do you reckon it will be until two strokes get banned? Personaly i dont think they will ever be able to ban them there will always be one running somewhere. James

Spray the inside of your airbox with some of that really sticky filter oil. If dirt gets past your filter, it has a good chance of getting stuck to the airbox instead of getting in the carb.

Hello everybody, Just starting to get back into trials (well, i've just bought an old bike) and came across your lovely site. I used to compete in schoolboy trials until i was 15 and now *ahem* 20 years later i've realised what i've been missing. Although it's a bit painful not having Dad pay for it anymore! I live in Devizes in Wiltshire so would welcome any local information about clubs and practice grounds in this area in fact any hints and tips at all. Thanks in advance, Roy.

Drowned my bike for the first time this weekend. Crossing some rocks in a stream and slipped off into 3 feet of water. Glug. Dumped out the airbox, emptied the float bowl, kicked several hundred times with the plug out, and fired her up! A little bit of a bummer out in the cold and rain, but, all in all, it's pretty amazing that you can submerge one of these things in the morning, and still ride all afternoon!

One for all in the UK. I had to replace some hex head bolts on the SY, there not that easy to get hold of. I used a company called Inox, I can highly recommend them.

I never liked riding with gloves on. I remember as a kid riding over the top of Penn Hill in the snow, and not feeling it. Unfortunately these days I must be in the office too much and I've turned soft. I started just carrying them so I could put them on when needed, but that's a pain in the butt most the time, and now I've got used to wearing them all the time. I've worn nothing but Hebo's for a few years, and although I find them OK, they don't seem to be anything special for the price. I've always kept my eyes open for alternative gloves, from places like Mountain Bike shops, but usually the price has been near enough to the Hebo's for me not to bother. Of all plac…

Just in case someone is waiting for a 43 tooth rear to be available for the new 4RT like I was last week, the new Gas Gas rear sprockets will fit perfectly. It seems they're more available and in more configurations. I went with the 44 tooth and am pleased. First is as slow as I wanted and now 2nd is more versatile.

I have noticed on my Sherco 290 that even though it has a hydraulic clutch lever, the force required to operate it is similar to that of a cable system of old. Also, the bite point is only over a few degrees of lever movement and I find this unnecessarily difficult to control. I have looked at the design of the lever itself and feel this can be greatly improved upon. My question is does anyone know of a better hydraulic clutch lever that gives a wider degree of movement at the bite point and less force to operate? If not, I will design and produce one myself Thanks

I was reading in a science journal last night that the science development team at Kwik Fit have developed a new exhaust system for 2 stroke motorbikes that changes the tone to sound like a 4 stroke. This it appears is to 'fool' the environmentalists at Motorbike Trials competitions to think we are all riding 4 strokes therefore complying with the new regulations that have been proposed. I quote from the journal. This looks great, What do you think of this then ?

Only got last weeks TMX today, flyer in it for the new trialsworld (?) mag, the subscription looks like a good deal, 30nicker for 12 issues and ya get a pair of Hebo Trials gloves thrown in to boot! billy-bargain! Can't wait to get it, not enough trials publications out there, hope it gets good support, and therefore stays around.
