Anybody know of any 'try your hand at sidecar trials' day in the future as many years ago (read mid 1980's) i did 3 or 4 seasons driving an outfit (nb. we made the entry list up / cleared the sections / flattered the good riders) and my lad is keen to experience the 'fun' and i really need to demonstrate:- a. its not easy and b. its bl**dy hard work Despite explaining the many cuts / bruises and lengthy repairs due to rolling the thing, he still keeps pestering for a 'go'. Alternatively, if anybody is trying to 'shift' a VERY CHEAP outfit then give me a shout....

I've got a TXT 280 and would like to experiment with the rear shock preload. Have been unable to find the wrenches necessary to adjust the preload rings. Can anyone point me toward a source in the US?

I'm a pretty terrible rider...and I don't get out much, but I had an interesting weekend in that I got to ride an '05 280 Pro and a Montesa 4-stroke. Both very cool bikes, and about what I expected in most areas. The GG was more plush than the '04 I last rode, and the power was very smooth. Less tiring to ride. Great low-end grunt for powering up steep hills with turns. Light front end made me want to hop it around. Finish looked a little cobby...or maybe you could say it had a hand-made "works" look. It had only been out a few times, and the plating on the frame was starting to get boot-worn. I didn't like the fact that it would not start by first taking up the free…

Just thinking aloud again!!!!!! Broke my rear brake pedal the other day, and couldnt find a replacement quickly, so had a ride around anyway. SO...the thing that was frustrating me the most,,,,was...thinking...."I bet there's a temporary fix that I could do to this, IF I was a bit smarter"!!! I'm sure some of you die-hard more experienced trials riders out there would have known what to do....so..if you do..please let me know. I'm sure a rider doing something like the Scott trial would have come up with some brilliant temp. fix......or do you all carry spares around with you in UK... or maybe you just dont brake things as often as I do!

(sherco press release) We have never doubted the sense of responsibility of our star trials rider, Albert Cabestany, however since August 21st he has a new person to whom he must yield an account. She is none other than his wife Yolanda, his life partner for the past three years. They celebrated their marriage in the very charismatic atmosphere of our champion's home town of Tarragona. The service was held in the very beautiful Roman Catholic Cathedral in Tarragona which was the perfect place for this unique moment for Albert and Yolanda. All of the members of the "Sherco Family" desire the very best for the new couple.

[Q]TMX]As you can see, I am more than happy to stick my name to any words, thoughts or deeds that are my own and accept any subsequent consequences but, amazingly to some, I sure don't wish to carry the can for acting as mouthpiece for Mr Anonymous.[Q] Yes a nick name under the avitar is fine, but shouldn't all profiles have the members correct name, hid behind it's easy to slag whatever or who ever. I agree with JD, if you don't like somthing it's not against the law to say so, or even what you think, but if people knew who was saying it, then it may be said a little better, or not at all.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone is using Repsol 2 stroke oil, if you could say wheather its any good. Also if you find it smokes or runs clean etc?? Thank you!

just tried putting my pin on the map but Shetland's missing!! I know we're quite far north but surely you could of squeezed us in! Even if we were in a wee box down the side somewhere like on some of the weather maps, but just to miss us out completely, c'mon!!

  14. Started by alan bechard,

Throwing out some general rules here, but usually, if a bottom end oil is intended for two strokes they will grade it with a different system than a 4 stroke. Soooo, when you go pick up a bottle of two stroke lower unit oil (clutch) it will say something like 75 wt. or 80 Wt. And if you are picking up an oil for a 4 stroke, it will be speced with the "standard"(SAE) designation of 10W40 or 10W30 or so. As I am looking to help by brother in Law in Germany find the right lubricants for his bikes, I am stumbling into that the European's are flagging all their transmission type oils with the SAE grades Ie 10W40 or so... SOOOOOOO, my question is, On the bottle of oil that…

I've had this habit of shifting with my heel and now I'm wondering why. Everyone else seems to be shifting with their toes. And I'll admit that it is much easier to shift with your toes while in a section. But I still like the positive feel I get from the heel of my boot. Any other Heel Shifters out there?

I've accumulated quite a few downloaded trials videos and several of the Japanese ones (JTC annual reviews etc.) seem to feature a bloke called Gatti quite heavily. I have one that's about 10 minutes long which seems to be him training and practising. I just wondered who he is (my Japanese isn't up to much)?
