I have many times myself used caustic soda to clean out my exhausts but what do I do with the removed fluid? Is caustic soda still THE way for cleaning my Fantic exhausts? If yes, whats the best way to mix it?The silencers are all repackables from WES so thats not a problem. Then what do i do with the goo that comes out. Any suggestions? lee

Anybody got a spare rear shock lying about?? The bike is an aprilia climber but i am happy to give anything a try. It needs to be 335mm or thereabouts between mountings. Been quoted a small fortune to have my original one re-built... seems damper rod slightly pitted.... otherwise its going to become a twin shock!! (2 new shocks for less than half the price of a rebuild....) Andy

  6. Started by glenn,

When I was at a trial today I let a guy have a go on my bike as he was interested in getting one. He mentioned that at his next birthday he will be 80. Its one of the reasons why I like trials, is the fact that the main deciding factor is skill. I remember another guy I met a couple of years ago at a trial who I was talking to who was 78, riding a BSA C15, He was more than double my age riding a bike that was over ten years older than me, I was ridding a brand new bike and he finish on less than half my score . If I can continue till I

Hi all, I am midway through a college course in web design for beginners and as part of the course I had to design a web site. I used the opportunity to collate some material about my trials riding. The site was built using basic html so don't expect too much. Let me know what you think, I am gratefull for any constructive comments. I don't have a domain name and it's only hosted on the college server so I hope they won't mind a few hits! Here's the link. http://212.219.116.40/~sbird/index.html Thanks, Steve.

Hey Guys Did we have a fun week downunder with the visitors we had!!! It was good to see Clarky recover from his endo at the Scot to leave some rubber (and skin) on the ozzy granite and to watch Joa Hindren show everyone a Scorpa has big teeth!!! It was also fantastic to see the likes of Morris, Pons, Dabill, Brown, and the others in the OS troup on our soil. I just can't figure why Joa isn't riding in the factory Scorpa team after seeing what he can do when he gets off a plane and rides a borrowed bike???? Nice to have you gents come to visit.....come back any time!!!! BJDownunder

Just stripped my TY mono down for a bit of work, I'm going to have the frame plastic coated and I was wondering what tips you guys might have for masking off the Headstock bearing area and also the swing arm bearing area. In the past I've not masked these areas off and have had a right nightmare getting the plastic coating back to metal to accept the bearing races Will a simple masking off of the area with masking tape do ? I've just got images of the blasting process ripping the tape apart...any tips ??

Not sure this will make sense to others or not.. So I aired on my left grips, cut for the bar ends and away I go. As I ride, my hand naturally positions the grip "inward" towards the center of the bar. I am wondering, will it stop moving in? I would think it would reach a position on the bar where my arm / hand was comfortable at, then settle in too that position.. So,, Should I cut off the extra length of unused bar??? about an inch at the moment. So what effect would having unequal bar lengths relative to the center have? My right arm is clearly stronger than my left so would it not make sense to have the left bar longer than the right? But my little experiment …
