Hi all, I have some air leaking out of my rear wheel at the spoke nipples and am in need of some information. I am going to replace the tyre band to reseal it but also I want to respoke the wheel while Ive got the tyre off because the nipples and some of the spokes are corroded and seized. Have any of you attemted to respoke a wheel yourselves, what is the easiest way of doing it, what torque do you need to have on the spoke nipples?. do you need to make a jig for aligning the rim. I was planning to do it 1 spoke at a time to minimize the amount of movement on the rim while I am tinkering and would appreciate any help from you guys. Oh... I dont want to go down the rou…

I am looking for a section flag marker system to use on hard venues like quarries and loose rock where a wooden stick cannot be used. Anyone any ideas and where such items could be found / made. Needs to be transportable, durable and water resistant.

I have a 2001 sherco 2.9 and the engine seems a little noisy so i have taken the top end down to check piston. Unfortunately i do not have micrometer and internal to measure bore and piston but without rings on i can get a 0.1mm feeler gauge snugly between liner and piston - does this mean there is too much play and an oversize piston is needed. Also would really like some advise on how to check main and big end bearings if possible. Thanks guys !

I am headed to Germany next week and will be working on my BIL's 96 Beta, although I think often the problems will be generic to bikes. Always having lived in the south I have extremely limited experince with operating in the freezing temps. On his last ride, he would give it the gas and it would go flat. He turned in the "airscrew" (I am not sure if it is an airscrew or fuel) and it improved considerably, it is now bottomed out. My initial thoughts are a small amount of water / condensation freezing in the tubes or passageways, or possibly just some trash that is coincidental with the cold weather. My advice was / is clean carb, drain / clean tank, check internal ta…

Last Friday I was riding the whole day in rainy weather. As the day progressed I had more and more problems with my Carb slide sticking, until I finally could not continue riding. I found water on the slide (round slide Keihin). I can only think of the water getting to the slide through the throttle cable. Any tips on how to fix such a problem ? I have a 1998 Scorpa 280 Easy. Thanks.

hello everyone, this is my first post so forgive me if it not done right. i have a 1997 gasgas.today i noticed coolant leaking from a bolt holding the c/head on(h/gasket blown?),so i thought tthis was a good time to investigate a rattle which i have been putting off. After removing the head,i noticed that the piston has quite a lot of clearance in the bore,i measured the piston and it is almost ,35mm smaller than the bore.I`m giessing this is the cause of the rattle.Small end brgs and big ends are ok.Because i`m selling the bike in a few months i dont want to spend a fortune on a rebore, i`m guessing that`l cost about 200quid and i aint loaded. The bike is in good nick an r…
