I'm trying not to panic, but I can not get my Hontesa to start and I'm leaving for Motorama in the morning! I pulled the carb and cleaned it last night, there was dirt visable in the intake side! I simply ran some fine wire thru the jets but did not remove them, used some carb cleaner also. I went home at lunch today and poured a little amount of fuel in the cylinder and she fired up for a moment! The symptoms that lead to this: After 7 hours of riding this week she started not to idle then pinging, or a slight knock as she tryed to idle, diesaling affect. any suggestion would be greatly appreciated! sam

Have had this bike for 6 months now, but suspension seems to be damped too much (no bounce) on both wheels.I am going to refill front forks as suspect this has not been done for a while, but both fork leg top clickers are jammed (screwed right down) anyone sorted this problem? Any information about back spring- seems to have 2 lock nuts on thread for spring and an air valve on top would also be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Has anyone noticed that in the indoor championships Gas Gas have Repsol sponsored tabbards duct taped over the Repsol slogan. I appreaciate that Gas gas may be sponsored by another oil company ? but surely the event may not exist without sponsorship. Seems like a slap in the face by Gas Gas!

im thinking of buying a new bike but its probably between the montesa 4rt or the scorpa. i want a bike that is reliable well made and that will last. Should i save almost a grand more and go for the 4rt or will the scorpa be just as good and improve my riding more than the 4rt. James

Hi after completely stripping my engine too try and find a selecting fault on my `97 scorpa easy and finding nothing I today came to the reassembly, after putting the cases back together and the various selector parts back on i tried going through the gears once again and have discovered what is most likely causing the problem. on the shift shaft ass. you have a rocker device I beleive they call the `pawl ass.` when selecting up the gears the rocker often (90-95% of the time) dosen`t centralize when you pull the lever down slightly it pops back down. It`s as if the whole ass. is sitting say 1-2mm too high though apart from the spring twisting which i find hard to beleive…

I think that Trials Central is a fantastic place for fellow trials enthusiasts to share their knowledge and enjoy light hearted banter, but..... ... I really do despair at the appalling level of spelling in many of the forum posts. Is spelling not on the curriculum these days at school?? Yours Victor Meldrew !!!

I've got a couple of fields which haven't made any money for years, I was thinking about digging a few holes etc to use it for a bit of trials practice. The smaller field is 6 acres in size, it is fairly flat with no trees or natural hazards, so I would have to change the appearance of the land. (If it was any flatter, it would be a football pitch, if you get my drift.) Has anyone any experience with doing this sort of thing? I would appreciate any thoughts on the matter. ie planning problems, insurance, compensation concerns etc. Basically, is it worth the effort?

Hi did a search but cld not find a specific topic about: which two-stroke oil is best in a low revving 18 hp trials engine. We use synthetics a lot which were made for mx racing engine 12.000 and 40 hp, so what made use believe we have to use them also. Lately it got me thinking why a mineral oil for low temp/low stress situation wld not do the job equally good or maybe even better than the full syns. http://www.ultralightnews.com/features/oiltest.htm What do you think about bio-degradable oils for outboards? My cilinderhead fouls up with carbon after only 15/20 hours so i feel i am using the wrong oil. At the moment full synthetic castrol TTS, which works in my …

Did anyone ever discover the indoor coverage on Eurosport? The supposed time for the Sheffield event turned out to be a snooker match. I've not heard anything since.
