After a torturing 3 months of my bike being in the garage and the 3 weeks in Alan smiths Trialsport its now back with a vengeance, I pick the beast up tomorrow along with a blue x-speed helmet. The cost of 323.99 is hefty but well worth it and ill be getting my bikers legs back on Sunday wen I give her a nice test drive. For 323.99 I got Chain Front sprocket Back sprocket Bike service Brake service The kickstart shaft sorted 2 new break callipers and a x-speed helmet I know its not cheep but i'm soooooooooooooo chuffed

With all the fuss recently about trail bike riding and legislation, I'm curious to know, if you have a patch of woodland or farmland, what rules and regulations pertain to inviting a club to hold a trial there? Or, what rules pertain to inviting folks to practice (and say, charge a small fee or even hire out a couple of bikes on a daily basis)? Thanks.

just wondering if anyone else has been there recently, went there last week having learnt there but not been for several years to run my bike in and it looks like it is now decent ground to learn on. still believe that it doesn't really have anything testing in it but all in all a decent piece of land

hi im looking to buy a ((cheap)) trials outfit can anyone tell me the best place to look as it has died a death over here (N.Ireland)

Anybody got any pictures (or ideas/advice) of a modern Trials bike set-up with racks etc for carrying fuel and or over-night gear? We are just getting into Trials (in Sydney, Aus) and I'd let to be able to kit out a modern full size Beta or Scorpa to enable a longer ride overnight etc.... We can travel light if we do the ride in the summer here as its 16C or greater at night. Cheers. J.

What is a good tough paint for magnesium engine side covers. A local powder coating shop said mag parts did not hold the paint well because some kind of outgassing when heated in the oven.

Hi everyone, I am a newbie to this scene and have just bought Gas Gas txt280 from a friend. Bike is great condition but front brake is really noisy in use, he had just fitted new pads to it. Have tried copperslip on piston ends and even tried making two shims but to no avail. can anyone out there help me. cheers in advance

The Michelin rear tire on my Montesa 315 leaks about 1/4 lb per day, but I cannot find a leak. Used soap and submerged the tire in water. Still no luck. Is this normal for trials tires? Do the tires or rims just out-gas the air gradually?

After a bit of time out, Im just getting back into trials. Im considering a new bike, but hesitate cos they aint got bleedin seats and only have tiddly tanks FFS! How on earth do you guys do road trials now?? How the ferk do they compete in something like the scottish???? Unless you convince me otherwise, might have to just settle for the twinshock...

This is my first trials bike, and was just wondering at what point to change the front/rear tyre? The nobbles are now slightly rounded. I know what some of the answers are going to be... when it starts slipping/ loosing grip. But i am new to trials and it is muddy, so it slips all the time! from looking at the tyre, how can i tell if it is time to change? Thanks Ryan

What is the best way to remove oil and carbon buildup in an aluminum expansion chamber. I understand caustic soda will damage alum.

Hi, I am a rookie and am starting to look for a trials bike. I want a latish model bike. In Australia we can choose from Beta, Scorpa and Sherco....bikes like Montesa, Gas Gas are rare here. I am leaning toward a Scorpa SY250 with the option to put the Longride tank on.....but I am keen to hear what you guys think is a good bike from a build quality and reliability point of view. (I will maintain and tune it myself). Cheers. J.

How to remove rear, or front, wheel bearings? The spacer between the bearings has a slightly smaller ID than the bearing. Can heating the hub and driving this ridge with a brass drift get the bearing out?

In trying to remove the header pipe the metal flange that goes over the two studs will not come off. It looks like one of the studs is bent outward and even though the flange is loose it can only move out over the studs about 3/16 inch. Any ideas on how this got bent, and how I can straghten it. It's going to be hard to get to with the pipe in place.

Simple question... Are the new VEE rubber 400 x 18 trials tyres any good? If i want to save a few pennies is the Vee rubber any good for mud and roots , and possibly the odd rock. The trial pattern looks similar to the Michelin but what is the compund like?. Has anyone tried them? If an Michelin tubeless is 10/10 and a Pirelli MT43 is about 4/10 then what rating would you give the Vee rubber?. I did try the Barum a few years back and wasnt too impressed but the Vee rubber looks better and is tempting me back to the dark side of cheaper tyres but would like your advice before i do so. Comments for us skinflints please.

Are the linings removeable and washable and any idea how heavy these helmets are? Thanks guys

Hi all I have just moved to wiltshire (near chippenham) from tyneside and wondered if any of you know of any trials practice areas that are 'legal' to ride on. any help would be appreciated because I DO need the practice! thanks guys rich
