  1. Started by beta-boy,

well its been a long time since i've been on these forums, im imbarrased to say that for the past two years i haven't done much riding at all besides for the odd event here and there, and with my old 97 techno out of commition for the past 8 months i've only ridden about 3 times, all of which were on my dads bike i've had my beta for 6 years, it was my first bike and it brought me from a junior class rider all the way up to the expert class, i've always felt that it was holding me back a bit but i stuck with it(mostly due to the lack of money to buy a new one) well the inevitable finally happened yesterday, i was getting annoyed that i wasn't riding as much as i wanted…

i am sure that many of you who could not attend the presentation for the scott trial will have heard that dougies one piece suit was sold in the auction, as it was a friend of ours who bought it and wee took it round to theirs the following day, i had time to inspect it, and i noticed that on the left leg there is burn marks, now any of us who have had a go on a scorpa knows that the first thing that you do on one of them is burn your left leg, and we also know that scorpa are desperate to sign a top rider, could it be dougie? or... we all know that dougie has a history in riding the other bike that has a left hand side exhaust, the beta, and it would be easy to get a ri…

Any suggestions for music I could use in the background of a short video clip? It's a clip of me in 1992 which I am using on a site I am building for a college project. Here's a link if you want a laugh at the clip. It's not quite Jason Finn! http://212.219.116.40/~sbird/movies/aprillia.wmv

Hello all. I'm a 48 year old bloke who has fancied having a go at the old feet up game for ages. I'm from Cheshire. I'm reckoning I can get myself a useable bike for about 800 quid, a twin shock type Beamish Suzuki or a TY250 Yamaha type bike. Or whatever? Where can I learn to ride? Where can I get local advice? What's the score with these bikes, I see some are registered for the road and many are not, indeed have no lights or horn, speedo etc... I have no intention of riding it on the road so what's the score? Any advice, comments appreciated. Regards Steve.

Mike has contacted me about sidecar trials that Richmond Motor Club used to run in the 70's 80's. He was wanting a copy of a dvd that the club has recently produced. For some reason the email he used to contact me will not let me respond, so is there anyone out there that can contact him for me?

Morning everyone Is it right that the only place you can find out which trials are on in the uk is the t+mx news? Is there anywhere else? I know there is a calendar on here but that does not list everything.

  13. Started by shercorh,

Bought a 290 sherco last month, all was well until today after id been on it for a couple of hours. I had been having problems for a few minutes selecting gears. Slowed down and pressed harder downwards on gearshift. Gearbox started to make loud grinding noise so i pushed the thing to van. The gear lever is floppy(loose).Like a plonker i started it a couple more times hoping it would disappear! Is this common fault, Is it gonna cost me a packet.??? Cheers all, rich.

Thinking of getting my rims powder coated black. A mate was asking me a couple of questions about it to which I don't have the answer, so wonder if anyone can help? 1. Would the paint fill in the spoke holes on the rim, forcing you to drill the paint out? 2. Does the inside of the rim need to be done too, meaning that you have to change the rim tape? Any advice on having rims powcer coated much appreciated. Martin

hello, a question from a "newbie" from Italy... I've got a Beta ALP 200 4T, I use it in medium range tours on the mountains around my house (in tuscany). Sometime I find too hard obstacles so I would like to change the ALP with something closer to a trial bike... Anyway, I still need to use it also on street transferts, for some kilometers (it's easy to do it with the ALP 4T, which is not a real trial bike...) Scorpa TY 125 or 175 has a seat, and it can be street legal, is it a good choice for me? I also considerd the new Montesa Cota (with the seat+bigger tank kit), but it's a bit too expensive for me... m.
