Wrigglesworth Building Services Series 2012 Round 1, Manor House Farm, Glusburn. 2/5/12 The WBS is the perfect series for an old beginner like me, and any other beginner for that matter young or old. And just like the last two years, we had plenty of ‘em! The only difference this year being the introduction of an E class. WBS could also stand for Wriggy Brings Summer! Well almost, at least it was fine for the day in what is fast becoming the wettest drought on record! It’s a winning formula. A steady route for the beginner and a little harder route for the more experienced rider who wants a good ride out on a Wednesday evening with his/her mates. Former club pr…

  4. Middlesbrough & DMCs 2 day clubman trial this weekend has been cancelled. Although the sections & parking are excellent & ready to go, the country park area that riders must cross is heavily water logged, meaning with bikes going back & forth the potential of permenant damage was likely in this very public area. As a result the club has taken the responsible decision to cancel & thus eliminate any danger of either damge to the land or in the relationship with the new landowner. The Club has another trial planned for Sat 19th (2 weeks time) at the same venue, which hopefully weather permitting will run. Appologies to those who were planning on riding…

  7. Thirty five riders arrived at Statham’s Farm, Matlock, Derbyshire last Sunday 22nd to take part in Round 3 of the Clubs Championship sponsored by PB Trialsport to be greeted by a typical British spring day. Yes you’ve guessed it it rained all day! But the inclement weather didn’t dampen the riders spirits and by and large a great days trialling was had by all. It was great to see riders supporting their club in the wet conditions. The Clerk of the Course Paul Beswick ably assisted by Tony Sprinks laid out an 11 section course ridden 4 times with the emphasis on good old fashioned throttle control and balance because over the many tree roots and rocks grip was at a premiu…

  10. Middlesbrough DMC got the good news from the new owner of 'lordstones' Carlton Bank N.Yorks that they can use the land this year. The club had resigned themselves it would not happen this year, but thankfully the club oficials have pulled it off. May 5/6 Clubman 2 day. Clubman A&B & youth (no D class) - Sections will be dual route, and despite the short notice the eager club team are hopefully going to 'extend' one of the gullies, both above and below what was used previously. Those that rode last year will be welcome to know that the hill climb will be back also. Its a great clubman venue & an enjoyable ride round too. Sat starts at 2.30 & Sunday 11am…

  13. A sunny spring day and 11 super sections at Bracken Rocks, Holloway near Matlock Derbyshire welcomed the 26 riders who made the pilgrimage to this much loved venue. The sections were in prime condition and soon the riders were stripped down to shirt sleeves and relishing the challenge laid down for them by Clerk of the Course Paul Beswick for this round 2 of the Clubs 2012 /2013 championship sponsored by local spares supplier PB Trialsport. Due to a clash of dates the observer corps who are so essential to the enjoyment of trials was down to just a happy band of one in the shape of George Chinnery who we would like to sincerely thank for making the trip we really do stru…

Having not rode this trial for a few years is it recommended to carry fuel, they only reason is that I remember that one of our group ran out and and had to push his bike for a mile or so? Has the route changed so much since 2005/6? How big is the lap?

Last year Bedlington Motor Club ran the first Alwinton two day trial. Dates have recently been agreed by the North East Centre and this year the trial will take place on the 8th and 9th September. Last years event was enjoyed by many and consisted of three laps of 15 sections on the saturday and two laps of twenty sections on the sunday, all entirely off road. Members of the club have recently been back to the venue and found another 5 brand new sections, there are probabaly more. Discussions have also commenced with the Forestry Commission who have expressed interest in allowing the trial to use part of the neighbouring forest. The club are yet to get into the forest…

  18. With the 2011/12 season now well and truly behind us riders were chomping at the bit to compete for the awards for the coming 2012 / 2013 Trials season with the Peak Classic Trials Club. The opener of the season was as usual at the very popular venue of Dudwood Farm near Elton Derbyshire and the weather was glorious a beautiful spring day helping dry the land leaving the sections in prime condition. The team had spent Friday and Saturday laying out 10 sections, to be ridden 4 times, through the streams, woodland and rocky outcrops that comprise local Trials impresario Barry Burtons home Dudwood Farm. Barry not only allowed us to use his farm and outbuildings for the event…
