Hi guys, Andy from Western Australia checking in ..... I started riding trials back in 1979 on a Montesa Cota 247 then progressed to a Cota 348, Italjet 350, Yamaha TY250S & finally a Yamaha TY250R Pinky. (also did some sidecar trials on Italjet & Yamaha outfits) Since 2000 I've been doing VMX & riding road bikes with just the occasional trial & practice session here & there but have never really lost the trials bug so will be getting back into competition for next season. I'm currently reviving another TY250S mono so will be scouring this site for tips, parts & info as there's nothing much for these bikes over here now. Cheers,…

  5. Hi everyone, new to the forum here and excited about my first post. I am looking at buying my first trials bike and getting into the sport. I am a relatively skilled enduro rider but I'm looking to take my technical riding to the next level. I live in the states and trials bikes are pretty rare around where I live. I managed to find a 2003 Gas Gas TXT Pro 280 that looks to be in decent shape. I was curious on everyone's thoughts as far as the overall condition of the bike and what I should look for if I go check out the bike in person, or whether this is one of those models that I should stay away from. The owner specified new rear brakes, brake fluid, fork seals and flui…

  6. Hello, I'm new to the sport of trials and have to say I'm loving it. So much so that my poor 2014 Husaberg TE300 is just sitting in the garage getting dusty. I bought a 2015 Sherco Factory Edition 300, what an amazing bike. I decided right away after bringing it home that I would make a video series to log my transition into the sport and see how or if any progression was made. I've been riding some very extreme terrain for years now but have developed allot of bad habits due to lazy riding practice compensated by speed, momentum and a pimped out bike. This little Sherco is teaching me a few lessons. If there is anyone like me trying to make the transition back into a …

Hi everyone, my name is rob and located in the hull area. after a year of looking into green lanes and trail/trial riding I am looking at getting a trials bike so that I have something that would be good at both. my choice is between a 4rt or beta 4t 300 i ride a super sports mainly but am looking for something different to challenge me and possibly increase my ability off road. I love the idea of getting up something very steep of difficult but don't ever see myself as the next Toni bou. After reading many posts saying don't ask which is best ha ha ha I was just wondering how to two bikes compare, mainly the carb v fi also has anyone chang…

  9. Hello All, I'm relatively new to this sport so I'll be busy reading for a while. I'm 57 years old and grew up in RHode Island. Relocated to NJ where I married a Jersey girl and had a couple of great kids. I've got back into trials after a 38 year absence. Riding the New England Trials Association series in the C novice class. I believe it's time to move up to senior B as I am scoring most events in the single digits. I'll be posting with questions about that. I'm in this for the fun it. Not really concerned with awards or recognition of any kind. Just love the time on the bike with friends and being in the woods. Hope to see you all out there!??✊️

Hi everyone, Totally new to trials at the grand old age of 50. ? i do ride on the road, currently running a 2017 Ktm Superduke 1290, but wanting to try trials riding for those colder wetter winter days. ive just brought an old 1999 Beta Techno 250 & have yet used it in anger, just pottered around the garden. So im now looking for local trials venues, i think the closest is Raydon pits, but need to find a phone number as to how to access etc ive got a fair few newbie questions, but will try to search the forum first, but you'll have to excuse me if i do ask commonly asked questions

Hi people my trial habit is casual weekend use which is being taken on by my youngest son so we take to the hills round our home in north west scotland , nothing to technical fairly straight forward hill riding , spliced with the maintenance makes for quality time spent with little legs . We ride beta 270 rev 3 and evo 80 , annoyingly his light weight often traverses bogs with ease my technique is more ploughing through it's all good fun .

How do all? I'm Connor and based up in the Highlands, Scotland (just outside of Inverness) Just got bought another trials bike after been off one for a fair few years. Picked up a Scorpa SY250 2004 to mess about with now I'm fed up of messing with cars, just sold my Westfield fully caged road/track car with a ninja engine. So bought a Porsche and a trials bike. I'm lucky to have a huge forest on my doorstep with a nice tricky burn running through it. Only been out on the bike a couple of times in the passed week as been working on trail

Hello, I'm from Brecon and have wanted a Trials bike from the age of 13. (I'm now 45). Great forum by the way, have been having a look through for a while, but only just joined. I'm looking for a mint Monoshock Bike 85/86 and the 2 I desire the most - a Fantic or Yamaha TY. I'm looking for advice as which would be the best to get and have a budget of 2k Plus- ish for the right bike, but it has to look pretty much like new so looking for a restored model which is also mechanically running well. So which would you consider the best, a Fantic or a Yamaha TY? Bearing in Mind it will not get used much and won't be trialled but more likely used just in fields and take…

Hi Folks. My name is Mike and I'm in sunny California. I had been without a bike for 5 years when a good friend offered me the chance to rescue his '02 315r. It had been sitting since 2011. I'm currently trying to convince the little Dellorto PHBL to play nice then I should be back in the saddle, so to speak.

Just to say hi as im new to trials bike but loving it so far. Have had road bikes but always fancied one since watching kick start as a kid. Found an old Montesa to get started on and going to try the courses at Kidderminster and Shatterford soon. If there is any other places close to Wolverhampton please let me know and any recommendations as to servicing as my local bike shop does not want to do my Montesa. Hope to catch up with some of you soon Fraser

  19. Hi folks My name is Carl and just getting back into riding after 'giving up' around 15 years ago. I dont do it seriously and will never compete ( Im nearly 50 and not as fixable as I once was ) but I like to scramble around and generally just have fun. A little while ago I bought a 2001 GasGas with a 320 head on it. I will keep this for a while and fingers crossed buy something newer further down the line. I am so fortunate in that I have a great area to go scramble about in literally 5 minutes away from my home in a 16 acre old quarry! So if anyone here goes to the old Betchworth Quarry in Surrey, I will see you there ! Pic of the 'new' bike and me…
