Greetings, I have owned Bultacos for over 40 years. Still have my M85 Alpina bought new in the fall of 1972. Rode it in enduros and trials for several years, gave it to a friend for his son's "yard bike", retrieved it, restored it in 1996 and it now resides in the house. Recently I came upon a Sammy Miller High Boy with M151 running gear. These are pretty rare in the US and I am in the process of recommisioning it. It runs, supposedly has a rebuilt motor, but needs tidying. I'm have a heck of a time finding information it. Is there any literature on these bikes? One thing I'd like to find is a couple of the original "Sammy Miller Product" decals, these were the small,…

Hello I've recently bought this Tiger Cub built by Fred Hardy; I have his hand written notes on the various mods he had built into it. I believe that Fred sold the bike to Phil Clarkson of Leyland some time ago. Does anyone recognise the bike? Will the modifications mean that it would have to enter as a "Special" in Pre 65 club trials? Thanks Magnus

Hi All I'm looking for some help with a 350 BB32 rigid Goldie that was built in the UK in the 70's by my brother Mike Galpin. After he died in 88 I imported the bike to Australia and after it changed hands a couple of times I finally have it back and intend to restore it to its original build condition with a BB32GS motor. Hi all, I'm looking for some suggestions on S/SE Club(s) I'm based in Wallingford, S.Oxon (10 miles East of Oxford, 10 miles North of Reading) I'm returning to trials after a 25 year lay-off; back then I only did a couple of Clubman seasons on a Twinshock TY250, so never really reached any great standard. I've just bought a tidy '77 Montesa 348 Cota, and I'm looking to get started with some easy route events that'll suit my age / bike / ability and build my confidence, etc. Any & all suggestions will be gratefully received. My SWM has had it's footrest moved down and back thus making the rear brake pedal position a bit off for one with smaller feet...needs to be further back and lower to be ideal...cut and shut would be too easy. Now the rear brake pedal acts a class 1 beam lever....load-fulcrum-effort, so if I shorten my lever this means I will loose some mechanical advantage, not good. I should know the answer to this question but here goes.... ....if I call the original 'effort-pedal-foot-touch' point 'A' and weld a strip of metal to this original point but below & at an angle of 45' and at a point 2" further back in the direction of the rear wheel & call this position B, would…

Im trying to find out who built this and also would like to find any old pictures of it as im trying to return it to how it was it was registered in 1974 but I dont know by who.

How popular were these air cooled mono shocks back in their day? I had one in 2002, my first trials bike. Feeling a bit nostalgic, I`ve spent the last month looking for one and I`ve only found two for sale, one of them had half the engine missing and a seized crank. Are they/were they really that rare?

My SWM has a working decompresser, so far I've been using it as an aid when kicking starting her by engaging whilst kicking thereby making life much easier, also I kick her thru whilst operating the decompressor to prime her when cold, and lastly to stop her. Now I'm fairly sure the decompressor is also there to help on hill decents but I'm not sure why, when and how to use, be grateful for advice. cheers as always for any help

Hello my bike has knackered 11.9" shocks and everyone says to fit 340mm but when I open the gap to 340 my chain comes hard up against the swinging arm. Does anyone know whether my weight (14.5 stone) on the pegs will be enough to counter this? If not do you know where I can buy affordable 11.9" trials shocks please? Thanks John. PS sprocket is 62 tooth. photos show 11.9 in place and 340 gap. Gap closes enough to lift chain free at 310mm by the way

Can anyone recommend a durable fuel/oil resistant satin black engine paint please. I believe the previous owner used PJ1 paint, which hasnt gone hard and appears not to like fuel.

Hello - I've just bought a B40 frame / C15 bike and have now got it running - sounds fantastic! I was going to put a new back mudguard on the bike but when I took off the existing one I found that the rear wheel runs very much closer to the shock absorber on the silencer side of the frame than to the one on the chain side. The rear wheel runs in fact about 1" off the centre line of the rest of the rest of the frame (or so it looks to me). Is this normal? And if it is how do I fit my nice shiny new 5" mudguard? It won't easily line up with the little holes in the bracket behind the seat - or at least not in a way that runs 'true'. I do of course have 342 other questions a…

Great Britain has always been a nation of inventive engineers, Richard Trevithick, I.K. Brunel, the Stephensons, R.J. Mitchell the list goes on and on, give them a need or a challenge along with adequate funding and engineering will find a way.
