I've just been reading r2w's site where he describes how he discovered that the cause of his Gasser Pro running hot was a pinched outer head gasket (http://www.r2wtrials.com/html_files/tech.html). I've noticed that my Rev-3 is exhibiting similar symptoms (fan cutting in after only a couple of minutes' riding) as well as an accompanying pinging that I'm STILL trying to eliminate. Being pretty mechanically naive, I'm assuming that the Beta cooling system is similar to that on the GasGas and that a pinched or otherwise leaky head gasket is a possible cause of the hot running (and possibly the pinging)... worth looking at the head gasket(s)?

Hi all, noticed the clutch cover gasket on my 2002 Rev3 250, is sticking out at the top, and leaking oil. I've got a new one, and am looking to replace it tommorow. I'm assuming the water pump has to come out first?..or does it come away with the rest of the clutch cover ..all in one piece?..(haven't looked that closely at it yet). If I do need to take out the water pump gubbings first..will I need to drain the system? ANY advice is welcome..'cause I'm not TOO good with the spanners ..Thanks in advance for any help.

HI Guys Just found this forum for the educated Trials rider and for those who are smart enough to be on a Beta. Just a quick email to let you guys know that I have all the spare parts breakdowns on my website downloadable as a PDF file. I haven't got the 2004 on there yet as I have a problem up loading to the site. Hopefully the IT geek will fix some time soon - it has only been 3-4 months!!!!!! Hope this helps my fellow Beta riders through out the Trials world. address is : www.kdmototrials.com.au Select spare parts then choose your model, right click and "save target as" to your hard drive. Keep ya feet up Kal "Somedays your the dog, somedays your the tree"

Hello, I have a Beta Techno from the early 1990's. Unfortunately it did not run for about 3 or 4 years. But now I want to reactivate it. My question: Which oil does it need? CU Joerg

http://www.betamotor.com/media/news/2004_0...rr4t_foto03.jpg Obviously, this engine wouldn't make into a trials bike, but is this a BETA motor, or is this engine sourced from a partner company?

I have a suspicion that ATF causes the clutch fibre plates to swell thus causing all clutches to drag since there wouldn't be enough 'throw' to adequately separate the plates. Anyone have any experience with this? Is this on track or am I smoking left-handed tobacco? I've switched over to Mobil 1 synthetic and away from Torco MTF 75 - the Mobil 1 seems to help a little with the clutch dragging. I think a wholesale switch to new fibre AND new steel plates along with the Mobil 1 should give me a perfect clutch for the upcoming fall season. What are you running in your bike?
