my 2000 rev 3 was running very sick back fireing coughing and spluttering.changed the plug no good. cleaned the carb much better but now when using wide throttle openings it miss fires or 4 strokes. When stripping the carb checked the air jet ( looking from filter side this is the small hole at the bottom of the carb inlet) mine is stright thro. The Mikuni VM manual shows a jet, should there be a brass jet or something in there?

Just got hold of an 2001 rev3 270. It's been ridden wery little, and otherwise in good condition. It has been standing in an warm garage for about an year, been run twice during that time. We emptied the tank, changed gearbox oils (previous owner had been running something wery thik, clutch was dont freeing at all as cold) to the same elf 740 i use in the montesa. We also changed spark plugs, cleaned filter, and cleaned the carb.... Then we got to start it... =) IT RUNS LIKE SH*T. Pardon my french. At idle, it runs quite ok. Open the throttle abit (very little), still runns ok. Give it a bigger blip on the throttle... heavy misfire, detonation. Checked float level, whi…

We picked up 10 from the Comos on Tuesday for the Bottle Run Xtreme open house. We put a 270 together for a demo bike and by the end of the day it had 4 tanks of gas run through it. No complaints except the front brake needs some air bled out and the slow throttle needs to be replaced with a fast one. Thats not to bad considering we only had time to put the bars on and check fluids before people started riding it. Have not even adjusted the floats. Nice bike.... Aaron

Does anyone have a new or used 2000 rev-3 mud guard they wish to sell? Or if another year fits, and you have one of those, I don't mind a differant color. Broke her off this weekend.

I have a '01 rev-3 250. I can't seem to keep the clutch from dragging. I know I have bled it properly, and have adjusted the throw on the lever asymbly. When I pull the clutch in I can fell when it actually starts to disengage the plates, (about two thirds into the pull). What gives?

Pottering about with my 98 techno the other day and thought there was a lot of wires under the central plastics which made it quite bulky.I would like to make it easier to fault find and to maintain so want to get rid ,if possible. There are no lights on my bike anymore ,but whoever took them off left all the wires behind. anyone help me ,or know where I can get the info ,as to which wires I can take off without doing any harm...I did hear that certain wires have to stay on regardless of whether they are being used or not ,to prevent something or other happening regards N

Anybody had any problems with the rear brake caliper support being bent/warped? Mine has been twisted inboard and the disk has been rubbing on the caliper. I can't figure a way to straighten it and looks like the only solution is to get a new support bracket. Mabey somebody out there has had this happen before and can offer a solution. There is no way I can see to shim it back straight either. It's not bad but just enough for the disk to rub and the disk has actually worn down a slight grove in the caliper. The disk and pad are in good shape.

Just a note to let everyone know that if you DO connect the two carb overflows with a loop of tubing (connect them together) you may experience difficulty starting your bike. No more dribbling carb, but it won't start unless you kick the #$!% out of it. The remedy is to cut a 'V' shaped slot (or drill a couple of holes) in the tubing at the top of the loop to vent to atmosphere. Starting problems gone, dribbling carb - gone.
