Hi all, Was just trying to fit some replacement footpegs to my Rev3 (original ones!) After putting them in, they seemed VERY tight and would not spring up on impact. (which of course is what you want.........right!) SO..my questions are... Is this normal? Do, I just wait for them to wear in? Do I need to file down the inside of the footpeg hangers? Do I need to keep my old BENT pegs on and give up spannering? THanks in advance for any help

Hi everybody. This may have been touvhed upon before, but i have not experienced it before so I don't have a clue what to search for. I have a 2003 rev3 200. The bike is going fine but recently my clutch lever has started weeping some hydraulic oil from a tear in the rubber boot ting which looks to seal the piston. I would like to fix this as stuff like this irratates me loads. I think that it is the standard AJP lever but am not sure, I will chect tomorrow. Is there an o'ring which seals the master cylinder?? To change it where can I get one and how do I change it? Can I just remove the lever and pull the piston out of the cylinder? Any help would be good. My lo…

I seem to remember seeing someone selling home-made replacement silencer shields for Rev-3s out of the back of a van at last year's DRE show. Anyone know if these can be bought online anywhere?

Hi.just bought an new front and back sprocket for a 98 beta .....my old back sprocket had 43 teeth compared to 42 as stock. Question is there really much difference with 42 compared to 43. At the moment with 43 teeth I find that second gear is a bit to high for me, because i always seem to stall it . In 1st gear I seem to be revving very high.....I could just wait till I ride on sunday but...I wanna know now regards N

Can anyone suggest jet sizes for a Rev3 2003 beta 125cc. ? I also have a beta Rev3 2005 200cc. I run the same oil-mix in both, 80ml to 5L. The 125cc seems to run rich and drips oil out the exhaust I have noticed both have the same jet sizes 30 pilot, 150 main. It seems one size jets fits all from a 125cc to a 270cc. cannot be right ! What would be a good jet size for the 125cc ? I also looks like beta have swapped the 2005 125cc model from a Mikuni carb to a dellorto flat-side carb, sounds like a design flaw to me. Maybe old 125cc model carb choke/barrel size was too big for the smaller engine. ian.

I DNF'd a trial this morning because of a water leak on my 250. There was a pin hole completely THROUGH the left sidecase - I thought it was a bad casting but upon removal of the water pump cover I saw lots of corrosion to the sidecase in the water pump channels... several holes that are almost through and lots of corrosion to the area around the pump shaft seal. Now I'm pretty sure the coolant has contaminated the gearbox oil too - it looks cloudy. Does anyone have experience with this type of corrosion? I'm running Silkolene ProCool. Do you think a previous owner ran something that boiled or cavitated? It looks like I'm out a sidecase, clutch fibre plates, as well…

I plan to give my bike a rebuild for the summer and was looking for anything to look out for, anything important to make sure i do etc... I've never rebuilt a bike before, but I do do regular mainteance. I am not sure what type of fluids to clean the frame up with, WD40 something like that? Grease, another big question, what needs greasing, where and what type of grease? I don't know how to get the steering stock off, and where does it need greasing? I plan to put a grease nipple on the headstock, do I do it with the steering stock in or out, and where is the best place to put the nipple? Is it the big nut on the top? Also do I need to threadlock all the nuts, or is there…

OK, I'm the newb. How do I get the chain off? I'm told there's no master link on these chains. Right? Does the swing arme have to come off to get the chain off? My chain has all kinds of chain lube juck accumulated on it and I want to clean it good. (I bought the bike used). Thanks ALL!

How often should the muffler be repacked? How does this effect the operation of the motor? Is seen some talk on repacking mufflers and I'm wondering what it's all about. Ok, I'm a newb......

Hi folks, I'm sick of having to stall my '97 Techno to shut it up. I'm wanting to fit a lanyard switch so I don't have to do this and to cut the ignition when I have one of my "close encouters with the earth". I don't want to go butchering the wiring willy-nilly so, which wires/wire do I have to cut into? Cheers.

  13. Started by mcman56,

What type of seal is used on a 97 techno clutch cover? RTV silicone seems prone to leak. This bike had what appeared to be a ring of solder for a seal but it is no longer round so I can't tell the diameter. (I have heard of that before but can't remember where.)

I had my rev-3 dismantled for a few weeks while fix / upgrading/ replacing a few parts. One item I replaced was the chain tensioner spring. After cleaning, lubing and replacing the chain and the new tensioner I adjusted according to the manual. It said to adjust to 20mm between the top of the adjuster and the swing arm. Ok, so I did that. Now the wheel drags more than before. Keep in mind my adjuster was way out of whack before and thus my chain was way loose. Is this drag normal? I cannot freely spin the wheel while the bike is sitting on a stand. I appreciate any responses. Thanks Chad

Hi Folks, A bloke asked me the other day if my '97 Techno still had it's fly wheel weights on it. Why wouldn't it have? Is there any point in removing them? If so, why were they put there in the first place? I would imagine that if I was to find 'em and try to remove 'em that they'd be under the right hand side engine cover behind the fly wheel? This would mean I need a fly wheel puller, right? Can anyone shed any light on why/where/what and how on this subject? Cheers, PhilSwiv .

I have a rev 3 and the radiator is mounted on three rubbers which look to be bonded to metalwashers. But from there i dont have a clue how it is attatched. The rubbers seem to have come unstuck from the washers on both the bottom bolts, how is it meant to be and how is this rubber thing attatched to the frame and radiator, it is very difficult to see now it has collapsed. Any advice would be helpful, and has anybody ever expeienced this before? What new parts do i need? This probably sounds abit stupid but I really am confused by this one. Thanks.

On my '97 techno, some fiber plates are marked with a 1 and some are marked with a 2. The markings are on the little ears that engage the outer hub. Does this mean anything or denote an assembly order? Second, there is a washer under the inner hub. It looks like a standard hardware washer but I was expecting something surface ground on both sides. Is this correct? (I'm diagnosing a sticking/ dragging issue)

  19. Started by pinchflat,

I have recently purchased an '01 Rev-3 and since I am a bigger rider (230lbs/105 kilos) I find myself bottoming out the suspension often, front and rear. Both pre-loads (front and rear) are set to their maximum pre-load as per the manual. So my question is; does Beta or someone else make stiffer springs for my '01 Beta Rev-3 270 forks and rear shock? thanks -PF
