I dont know how they work but iff anyone can explain it would be greatly apreciated The reed valves on my tr34 are in 2 parts per side a large piece that covers the whole of the wedge they are mounted to and a smaller piece that covers two smaller slots on the large piece should there be a small gap between the large piece and the small piece this is only about .5mm i have tried turning them over but the gap remains the same so what i really need to know is should there be a gap and iff not will it affect the performance of the bike or am i worrying about nothing

My mate has an '02 Rev-3, and it sounds like one of Massey-Fergusons finest!! Apparently, there's a couple of welds inside the exhaust silencer which have broken away, thus resulting in a horrible clattering noise. Anyone got any idea what sort of cost he'd be looking at to replace the silencer?? And whats the likelihood of tracking down a recon one? Any advice fellow Betonians?? Cheers KB.

Hi all, Just wondered if anybody knew a quick fix to stop your muffler from rubbing on the wheel, I am riding an 03 with a Michelin X11 tyre. I have put in quite afew washers on the bracket but this doesn't seem like a very good idea to me, I have recently had the bracket rewelded and this has reduced the problem but not solved it. Thanks, Bob

Bit of an emergency, this one. Is it possible (and how do you do it?) to replace the water pump oil seal on a Rev3 without removing the whole side casing. I've got the water pump cover off and removed the impeller but I can't see any obvious way of removing (and replacing) the seal! I don't have a new clutch cover gasket to hand so removing the whole cover isn't an option at this stage. I asked Lampkins what I'd need for the job and they sent me a new seal and o-ring, so I'm pretty sure that it should be possible - I just don't know how! I'm supposed to be riding this afternoon - help!

Casting an eye over my Rev 3 when I noticed that the rear shock absorber locking ring (the lower one not touching the spring) was loose, question is has the one by the spring turned as well slackening off the spring load. I played about a bit with the adjustment before tightening them back up & the bike feels right. I know that the correct setting is one of personal preference but as a guide how are they usually set. While we are on the subject what setting on the damper screw on the shock body, there are around 30 clicks from one end of the adjustment to to the other.

Hello all ive got a 98 techno 270 with the paoli gold nitrate forks. I stripped it two years ago now in the process of puting it back together. I also stripped the forks 2 years ago to do the seals, finally changed them today and like a complete muppet didnt measure or cant remember how much oil i took out of them! Any ideas how much to put in either leg? Also my local dealer (who isnt a trials specialist) reckons they have different weight oil in either leg??? Any help would be much appreciated

Can anyone give any guidance about setting my 2004 Rev 3's front and rear suspension? I'm about 13 stone and have set the front pre load as per the user manual guidance. I've set the front rebound adjustment at 15 clicks which I believe is mid range. I've set the rear adjustment mid range as well. Does anyone know how much pre load should be in the rear shock spring for my weight?

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before but on all of the 04 and 05 rev 3 i've seen so far the float bowl overflow pipe has no plastic pipe fitted to it. All previous models seem to have one fitted. When i purchased my 04 rev3 second hand the pipe was not fitted and the carb never leaked. So after a few months I fitted a short one of about 3'' and it started leaking. I ran the bike with it fitted for a few weeks and then fitted a longer one which terminated at the same point as the gearbox breather. The leaking became even worse so mid practice i removed it completely and now it does not leak at all. Seems to me that the pipe is causing a siphoning effect. I…
