Just wondering how far back the rev-3 engine goes back, is it almost the same as what was in the techno's, in ways such as side casings and water pump housing etc ? Thanks,

Hi there, I just added a leaner main and pilot to my 04 beta rev 250. I haven't started teh bike yet, but I wanted to reset the idle and air screw to their default positions. The manual states nothing about how many turns out from fully closed are the default turns for either of these. To be honest, I don't even know *which* of the two screws is which! Is the big fat one in the center of the carb the Air screw? (and the one towards the rear of the bike the idle) or vice versa? Can anyone help me to determine what are the default settings so I at least have a solid baseline setting for the carb before I start her up with the new jets? many thanks, robert

Fitted a new "O" ring on the clutch cover on my 98 Techno...took nearly 30mins to get it near enough in place then nipped the screws up and seemed ok Went out riding yesterday ...after 5 mins it was leaking ...refitted it the best I could ...leaked again. Had another go and I got it to stop "pi**ing" out ...just a slight weep. Anyone got any tips on fitting them ???? Regards N

Hi Folks... I e-mailed the factory a few days ago (BETA)...to ask if they had any plans for a four stroke..OR an anniversary special model for their 100 years in 2005. They replied to me VERY quickly and said there are absolutely NO plans for a four stroke OR a special 100th anniversary model for 2005. I was quite surprised...just wondered what all you lot think?? Maybe they are still playing their cards close to their chest??

Hi All, Is there a Beta Rev 50 manual on line somewhere? A mate of mine has a new one. Looking for recommendations for oil, how much, what type recommended. Tried the Beta site, but can't find much on there. Thanks.

Just snapped of the little lump of metal that holds the spring on my side stand. Of course I can get it welded but that might cost as much as buying a new one. DOes anyone have any ideas what a new one would cost?? OR...maybe i should just continue to lean it against a tree???

Having witnessed the abilities of the 200 Beta Alp's during the Sammy Miller rounds, I went out and bought one primarily as a run about and secondly to do a few long distance trials and green laning. They are very capable bikes and with some work, might be a better proposition than the 4T Scorpa to encourage people to have ago at trials, particularly where you can only afford one bike. The trials with a C route, run by clubs such as my own beloved Stratford Upon Avon, are an ideal introduction to the sport. It will breeze C route sections and I will be attempting the B-route on mine at some events this year. The first round is scheduled for early April, so keep your eye…

I have a question on gas. Can I use 110-octane gas in a 2001 Beta Rev.3? I live at 7000 ft. above sea level, if it makes a difference. The gas in question is also leaded fuel. PS I now use a metal gas can like charliechitlins recommends!

I had a tip from Dan Clarke on a training day, to rub my clutch fibre plates with scotchbrite to clean them and to buff the metal plates up if they are shiney. To stop the clutch drag problem I`ve got I`ve never taken the clutch plates off before and have no idea what new ones look like,so I`m not sure if mine are worn or not.The actual fibre is about 0.015"-0.020" thickness (approx)either side of the plate BTW...its a 98 Techno Any help appreciated Regards N

Has anyone any advice...and if I continue to dislike the new ones..will I be able to buy the original ones??...I think they are called Tomassi or something...who sells them?? Thanks for any help!!

I've just taken the flywheel weight off my '04 250cc and can't believe the difference! It felt brilliant to ride, really zippy but I don't know what it will be like in an actual section. Has anyone else done this? better or worse? Cheers

If I was too take my bash plate off...is it VERY difficult to put back on??...I wonder since it seems to be a significant part of the structure. ALSO>....the nuts at back of bash plate (near rear wheel)..keep getting their heads rouded off on the rocks...I notice the Montesa has a countersunk alan key bolt thingy...which looks MUCH better to me. Mine keeping working loose too...I will locktite them soon... any tips..gratefully received since I'll probably take off the plate soon..and try to sort it all out.

Is it just me and my Rev3? I've noticed that when dropping down steep / long inclines my Beta acts like its trying to load up - kind of burbles a bit making me want to blip the throttle to clean it out (doesn't want to idle very well till the terrain flattens out). Is this only my bike, a Beta trait (raw gas getting dumped in the inlet tract when the carb throat is pointing toward middle earth), or something that happens on all bikes?
