Hello, I have a 92 beta alp 260 air cooled. The carb is giving some grief. I heard rumors of some guys changing to a mikuni. Can anyone tell me what model mikuni and where to fine them? Thanks in advance.

Hello, I wonder if you can help with buying another air filter for my 250 Evo 4t which appears to be a common filter on the current betas. Which make is considered best Jitsie ( I think spelling is correct) or an original Twin Air ?? or maybe another ! . Presumably the spark arrestor needs to remain in place ??. Many Thanks Lincol

Having difficulty with the carb on my son's 2014 Beta 80. The float occasionally sticks. I have replaced the needle and this hasn't cured it, as there isn't a separate float valve I think next step is a new carb. Do people just run the standard carb or is there a better one to upgrade to ? Thanks

Hi, Not sure if it's the right forum but: My 9 year old son is able to set off OK but lets the clutch slip from his grasp at the last moment because he can't reach the full travel of the lever. This is obviously a problem when it comes to covering the clutch lever for slow speed feathering. I've adjusted the allen screw/lock nut on the inside of the lever together with the sprung screw on the lever body but the bite point doesn't appear to alter significantly. Any suggestions?

I have a 2013 Big Wheel Beta 80 Evo with a non-standard rear wheel (with a flanged rim), the rim offset of which is not correct - I cannot get the wheel in line with the front without it fouling on the chain guard. Offset looks to be about 6mm off. I would like to get the wheel rebuilt, so could someone kindly measure the rim offset of a standar rear wheel? Ideally rear disc to rim edge, but not fussy as long as you tell me what you have measured! Thanks in advance Roger

HI All I am new to this so apolgoies if anything appears incorrect! We have the above motorcycle which misfires intermittently and gets better the hotter the bike gets. Its a single misfire and quickly redeems it self. I have ruled out poor fuel flow, carb issues, spark plug, ht lead and cap along with dodgy lanyard. Could it be the coil? If so, what method do you use to check it? Thanks for reading and all information greatly appreciated

I need to replace the reed valve on my 1998 Beta Alp 250. I think it is the same engine as the Techno 250, aka Beta 6605. Does anyone have any recommendations, know the dimensions, the Beta part number....anything?!!! Cheers, Steve

I've had a small squeak in the rear end about half way into the stroke for a few hours so went to work on the linkages yesterday. Checked all bolts - found a loose top mount. Squeak still there. Pulled the linkages apart and re-greased, 50 hours since last re-grease. Found one rear dogbone bush that's case hardening has broken up, but other than that all good. Reassembled everything. Squeak still there. Very nearly decided to just ignore it and assume it was an overflow hose or something rubbing, but resisted and kept hunting. Tightened the bash plate bolts. Still there. Checked the rear engine mount - bolt was considerably loose. Tighten that and sque…

A while back I decided to try fitting a pre-filter to my bike. I had a piece of 25mm thick coarse reticulated foam (ebay fish tank filter foam) that I'd tried to use as a baffle as described somewhere for SSDT prep - that never really seemed to do much so I thought I'd try a different approach for my drier conditions. I cut the foam down to 6-8mm thick and cut a few pieces shaped to fit under the filter clamp. Oiled and fitted. Works a treat! I check it fairly frequently and swap out when it gets grubby. The main filter stays far cleaner and swapping, cleaning and oiling the pre-filters is much quicker and easier than the main filters, and the piece of foam…

Hi, Really can't decide what would look best for my 2010 evo, either the standard 2010 colour scheme, or with the black TTT Graphics on, like the SXS White Beta Evo. Would like to know your opinions please, SXS Evo: Thanks, Ben.

I thought that by replacing the water pump shaft / seals etc on my Techno all the water in oil issues would disappear for a while. When I got the bike the oil was pretty horrible so I duly changed everything and after 5 flushes all was good...until yesterday. Up until now I've been out in pretty dry weather or just damp ground but yesterday I rode through some half wheel depth puddles a few times and when I checked the oil later it was grey again! The crankcase breather pipe looks like it's been cut for some reason (5" long) and was lying in a mostly horizontal position pointing towards the rear wheel and slightly to the side of the small mudguard / water & crud …
