Hi all. Back on a Beta after a couple years on a TRS. Lots of things that I loved haven't changed, but things i didn't like also haven't changed - plastics. They still seem very rigid & brittle. Is anyone making aftermarket fenders that are more pliable yet? A number of searches have come up empty, just hoping I'm missing something.

Just bought a '07 Rev 4T and I'm having problems with oil and antifreeze leaks that seem to be coming from the case and cylinder seals. I've never owned a Euro bike only Japanese so not sure what to expect. Is this common on Betas? What is the best fix? I realize the four stroke is so new most have no experience with them but any help would be appreciated. One dealer told me some leakage is normal and another said that they change the crankcase gasket and it is fixed (the 2 stroke).

Can anyone tell me what the crankcases on an 08 Rev3 were made of please, I seem to recall they are magnesium? I'm rebuilding one and the cases have corroded badly and so I need to refinish them. Thanks in advance

My 2013 clutch has always felt a bit too soft.... there's no positive 'spring' at the bite point....we've got a 2014 4T as well and that's totally different.... almost too 'switch' like...not quite as bad as some Montesa 4RT but not far off... I've fitted new clutch springs, slave & master cylinder piston kits. The clutch pack is well within the limit. Its almost like it needs slightly stiffer springs... cant find any though... If I put a thin washer under the head of the bolts on the clutch pack would this make the clutch a bit stiffer and a bit more positive?

Hi guys, hoping someone can advise.....2013 4t, gear lever shaft has lost its normal 'stops' both up & down the gears. I can still select gears but the lever & shaft continue to move in both directions. It doesnt stop in its usual 'detent' positions and wont return to its 'neutral' position after changing gear...Its internal so its an engine out job but can I get to the gear selector mechanism or the gearbox itself without dismantling the engine first?...any thoughts as to the problem?

I do apologise if this has been discussed before, a quick search didn't bring up much. I just got back into trials after having a lot of fun last year on a TXT 250 and my boys 125. I have just picked up a 2000 Rev3 200. I know the USD forks aren't ideal but the soft, buttery power delivery swung the deal for me. I'm hoping it will help with the utter lack of talent I had finding traction on my old TXT. I am pondering swapping out the forks and yokes with a right way up set up from a later year, but in the short term, I'd very much like to service these tired USDs. I'm struggling to find much online regarding seal sizes and bushings. Even better would be videos…

  15. I put this in Beta as it mostly covers that brand but some feedback on other brands included. Its YT but audio only. Really interesting point about the 250cc standard versus factory models. Well worth 20 minutes of your day to listen to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZ3Cq76bWzA Interview with Ray Peters - Beta Team Manager and Trials Coach (USA)

  16. I wonder if any Beta experts can help with this one? Long post I’m afraid… I recently bought a 2023 Factory 250, unwittingly a supposed ‘Euro Spec’ (or at least non-UK) version, the seller didn’t actually enlighten me to that detail. Usually this means no flywheel weight and a higher compression cylinder head insert, I believe. I bought it because I wanted a Factory for the better brakes, forks, yokes and rear shock and was of the belief that power wise, for UK spec models anyway, they were the same as the standard Evo. So, when I found out it was non-UK spec I took the flywheel off and the weight is present, and I fitted a standard head cover and low compression ins…

Hi The fuel tap solenoid on my Beta Evo 4T has stopped working. On examination one of the wires had broken off just where it joins the solenoid. I will have a go at reconnecting it or maybe buy a replacement. My question is why is this fitted to the 4T? The bike runs fine with the tap set to bypass the solenoid, and you can turn it off manually. Should I just leave it as is? Thanks Stuart

I have a 2004 rev 3 250. I am having a few problems with the clutch when the bike is cold. I have only just got the bike so I don't know when the oil was last changed. I am also thinking about doing the clutch mod. What is the best recommended oil? Thanks, Dan.
