Hi, recently we bought what was sold as a Beta 250, it had just had a top end rebuild but had a rough bottom end, after putting the top end on a spare bottom end we bought the piston looked very big for a 250, compared to my Gas Gas 200 piston it was huge. After riding the bike for a while it appeared very quick for a 250, and after todays ride while washing the bike off we noticed the barrel was stamped "352" after doing some research some websites say there was a 350 in 1997, our bike is a 97, however some say the 250 was the biggest. Any info would be great.

  2. After dwelling on the forum for a while and bargain hunting, Purchased a 2008 beta rev3250 , loads of trick bits on it , but the "CLUTCH" isn't working , or so I was told , anyhow dropped the oil this morning and it's mud brown ( obviously water in crankcase ) . Then I look at the oil drain plug and ouch I realised what I've got involved with !! Spoiler Spoiler ( sorry can't remove the spoiler box ) Any guesses what I'm going to find inside the casings ?

  3. A friend of mine has this older kids Beta trials bike which he imported from Japan along time ago for his kids which im going to restore for my son. Good compression and really not alot wrong with it except it has a faulty fuel tank filter which needs replacing so i would like advice as to where i can locate this part as im located in Thailand? Im not sure of the year and model of the bike as we dont have the import papers so if anyone can tell me more about this bike it would be appreciated. Knowing where i can buy new piston and rings for this bike would also be a bonus for the future. Thanks.

Not something I thought too much of until I rode the Vertigo Vertical we just got in the shop. Still, the clutch on the Beta seems to engage quickly/hard even with a determined effort to feed it in very precisely. Because it's the Factory EVO it already has the good plates spec'd - could this be mitigated by changing from the Motul TransOil Expert 10w40 to a different fluid? Swapping clutch springs?

Just bought a Rev 3 250 (2002). Drained gearbox and 300 ml came out. Is this normal ? Thought they held 550 ml. ?? What gearbox oil would you recommend to use ? Is the petrol tap "off" when arrow is pointing towards the back of the bike ?? Thanks for reading this and thanks in advance for any advice .

  6. Who has and what did you get? Links? I understand that you can use plastic screws in an attempted to save rear fender right!!! I m A bit nervous. I break a rear fender almost every month religiously. Just got my first beta coming from a 300rr. I use to have $20 rear fenders and now i guess they will be $150. What tricks are out there to prevent damage?

Hi, I have a Beta zero that came in boxes. After attempting to get spark I concluded I didn't have all the bits. So I bought some bits over the old web!! but they don't look right and I still can't seem to get a spark. I have power from the magneto on the yellow wire and I guess the black and blue are signals. .What am I actually looking for to get the system complete. Or is there a brand new of the shelf replacement? As it seems motoplat have flatlined? I would rather buy a system that works with that flywheel and stop struggling. Any help appreciated Eddy Cox

Hi. I'm having the leaking carb trouble with my 2006 rev 3 and I'm thinking of upgrading to a dellorto carb. I was just wondering if anyone knows which type I will need.

  9. I have had the bike for a couple months and really like it. I had a little tip-over on the left side today and when restarted it ran well for 10 seconds then started backfiring violently then stalled. I tried restarting and it kicked back hard several times but never fired up. It acted like the flywheel key was sheared but upon disassembly was fine. Does this sound like the ignition module? Thanks for looking.

Grandsons beta 80 big wheel, not running like it should Cutting out and balking ,seems like a fuel/carb problem. Cleaned out the carb changed the plug but still no joy wondering if anybody has had similar problems or could offer any tips on getting it running right. Thanks in advance.

  12. Can anyone tell me if I can fit a later year rear fender to my 2010 beta Evo 250 that has the removable air filter cover so I don’t have to keep taking the complete fender off to clean the air filter? Thanks

I don't suppose any clever, organised person out there has a list of bearing sizes for techno swing arm and dog bone? Need the swing arm bearings, dog bone bearings and the rocker link bearings. The user manual usefully lists all engine bearing sizes but doesn't for suspension parts 😐

Hi, everyone. I have just bought a 2022 250 factory to replace my 2017 standard 250. I have found the throttle to be a bit slow when revving up. Is there any easy telĺ to see if the previous owner put a slow action throttle on it? Instead of standard? As grips have been changed at some point too. Given the condition of the bike and only a year old it seems strange to change the grips to me.

Does anyone have a fairly decent barrel only for sale? Plenty barrel/pistons for sale, but piston is fine. Just a barrel needed. See the photos to see the cause of a lot of swearing in the shed 🙈🤣

  19. Me again... Needing some confirmation on techno stator setup. Im running the Ducati type ignition and my stator is mounted directly to the engine with no backplate or way of adjusting timing. Should this have a backplate? There's lots of photos of replacement items that all have a back plate with them. Im currently eliminating why the damned bike will not start and backfires. Carb is cleaned with new jets, plug is correct with correct gap and good spark. Inlet is clean and not leaking. Exhaust flows well. Replaced matched piston and barrel along with head orings and base gasket. Starting to scratch my head now and thinking timing or possibly fault…

  20. Just finding my feet with a bit of spannering. As part of a series of upgrades on my lads 80 small wheel today, I wanted to fit a better fuel tap, as the Beta OEM part isn't particularly easy to operate. I picked up a Jitsie part: https://www.jitsie.com/en/fuel-taps/53781-fuel-tap.html Got the fuel tank off to fit it and whilst it does fit the tank thread, no matter which orientation I put the tap in, it conflicts with either the engine itself, or the coolant hose off the top of the cylinder head. There just isn't enough room as far as I can tell. Two hours faffing didn't improve the situation. I've put a query in to Jitsie directly to see what they say.…
