Quickly, our family has 2 04's, and one 06 300's. the 04's, each I have modified the springs a bit to give us more "pre load" since I am quite bit heavier than Adam Raga, Now then is everything the same in the 06? I think there was some subtle changes... 1st of all, can I get the stiffer springs for it, or even better take the ones out of the 04? they seem different, and in the (usa versions of the bike are sold with a maintenence video DVD) and it mentions that they not only changed the forks to Aluminum, they also shortened the amount of travel or just the lenght of the tubes that go inside the forks, a wee bit (FWIW, Yes, it has been week or two since I saw th…

I have tried a couple of gearbox/clutch oils in my 03 300 pro. Started out with Rotella, it was in the bike when I bought it...switched to Golden Spectro 80W (I use that in my KTM so I have a good bit available). Clutch nice and quiet and progressive but lots of drag, same with the Rotella. I switched to ATF (Dex III) very little drag, quick clutch engagement, which I liked but the clutch sounded like a bag of bolts in a blender. I have read on the forum that that is normal for the pros but I just don’t like it. Couldn’t find any 0-30 or 0-20 at the local bike shops so I mixed 50-50 the Dex III and the 80 W...I like what I feel and hear so far. Any issues with mixin…

I have been doing quite a few miles on my 04 280 pro on trails and tarmac. Are there any problems i should watch out for apart from the normal routine maintenance? Does it have any detrimental effect on the piston rings as i am not sure how often these need to be replaced.

Hi, Does this bike has an waterpump weep hole, and where is it located? This bike has a small coolant leakage on the front engine case. I'd removed the skid plate but cannot find any coolant weep hole. I know there is 1 (oil) weep hole near the stator cover. And does anyone has an technical manual about this txt50 boy? Greetings from Holland.

Thinking of updating my 05 and just wondered if there are any problems with the 07's. I've heard that water gets in the air box, Is there anything else I should watch out for.

  8. Hello As topic says I found an incredible nice 09 250 that I am about to buy. Looks almost like new. Only thing I am scared of is that its got some child issues that isnt yet solved because it is so little used. In example I have heard that it comes with different ignition systems where one system had a lot of faults. Do You know anything about this? Thanks -Jan

  12. Ordered this yesterday and it came this morning. My bike was already at the workshop so I dropped proper work and fitted it. Mega light compared to the standard lump of iron, The welds were very neat and it fitted a treat. I had to flush it out with some thinners before fitting as there was alot of swarf in it and was stuck to the inside. This was due to it being oiled to protect it in storage I suppose. It is a sorter bend than the standard pipe and is of the conical design. Inside the pipe, if you run your finger inside it (it was my finger Honest!!!) You can feel its quite sharp at the inside of the joins as the welding has not penetrated through. I have never hand…

So I replaced my original t-stat on my 05ish 280 pro with a pretty standard 1/8" NPT automotive stat, with the idea that it is easier to find and (hopefully) more reliable. It has been working great for a few weeks now but the only question is what temperature should I be aiming for? I have not been able to find any answers trolling through the internet yet. I got one that turns on at 180 and off at 165. Does anyone know about what temperature the stock stat turns on and off at?

  16. Fellow gasgasers, I just picked up my 300 pro this weekend and man am I happy. I can see where the power is not a weak point comming off of a 2000 txt 280 I really notice the weight as well. All around great bike. On to the topic at hand. I am not a big fan of the threaded in ajp hydraulic lines. I liked the banjo bolts of my old bike because if I crashed, and I know i will crash, the banjo let the line move with out breaking anything. I want to convert these present threaded in lines to banjo bolts. Have any of you done this? I expect new lines will be the big part but will the masters take a banjo setup? Is there a mod to protect the present lines? I also notic…
