Hi, I am trying to find out what size jets to buy for an early cota 200. Are they the same as the ones listed for the mk2 carb fitted to the later ones? Thanks in advance.

Hi all. I have a Montesa Cota 311 which is is, as you know, a 2 stroke. I would like to convert it to a 4 stroke and was wondering whether anyone here has any ideas as to what motor might fit? I don't know whether there is enough space above the existing cylinder head for a 4 stroke head. Does anyone out there have any ideas? Maybe somebody who has done this before. I was thinking a crf 250 motor. I am not a trials competitor. I use this bike for cross country riding with some slow technical stuff. I know many people will say "stick with the 2 stroke". I just like 4 strokes and if I can do this conversion without to much difficulty I will try it. I live in Zimbabwe, t…

Although I dont own one (yet) I have always liked the Mont 315r and especially those funky green/purple forks. Anyway I noticed the new 4RT doesnt have them but has black forks instead yet (correct me if I am wrong) dont DL and Fuji still use the greeny purple ones?? Trivial I know but does anyone know why the production bikes stopped using them?

Hi all, I've moved back to Colorado and brought my 315R with me. It is jetted for sea level and ran great there. Not surprisingly it is super rich at my house now (I generally ride from 7500-9k'). I have lots of jetting practice and brass from my MX and enduro bikes, but have never opened up the carb on this bike. If anyone has recommendations on jet size to get in the ballpark that would be super helpful. Also what is a good source for jets for this bike? I have lots of brass for my enduro bikes but they are all Mikunis and probably much larger jets. Thanks!

  14. Hi all .. I've managed to almost resolve the clutch issues.. but I've noticed the back cog for the kickstart gear ⚙️ is very damaged And no longer meshing looks like the circlip was never replaced 🤦‍♂️...how do I get it out? It's behind the gear selector finger ! Do I have to remove the whole gear selector shaft or is there an easier way..

  15. Had a nagging oil leak since I got the bike a couple of months ago. In fact, quite a few slow (and not so slow) leaks so changed all seals in clutch case - gear, clutch arm etc. New cover gasket, too. Looked to also be leaking from a couple of the cover screws/bolts so added a few o-rings on these. Finally, found that one of the screws at the bottom of the case is all the way through the case and protruding just in front of the gear box drain plug underneath the engine. I'm guessing that the original cover screw was a shorter one and a previous owner has mistakenly inserted a longer one and pushed all the way through. Unless, of course, the original screw should have gone…

I have a 2016 Montess Cota 300RR (MRT300G) with running issues that I have narrowed down to the fuel pump. We replaced the gas in it but due to the shape we weren't able to see very deep into the tank. So we chased our tails a little bit on other issues and eventually got frustrated and put a strap on it and pulled it through the parking lot hoping to get it to start and got it to fire a bit, which is more than what we had at this point. Now due to the foul smell of bad fuel coming from the machine we figured it just took that much to get all of the new fuel into the lines, but it still wouldn't start. Sprayed some stuff in the airbox, kicked it good and it started up. So…

  20. Started by section swept,

Just thought I’d show you my version of a chain guard for the Montesa 348. Didn’t like the idea of paying upwards of £50 ish for something that might get wiped out in a section. There is a chain tensioner courtesy of In Motion nestling next to the gearbox sprocket, the upper chain run is protected by black water pipe ( cheap to replace if it breaks) the lower chain run is protected by thin pond liner sheet, this deflects falling crap from the tyre. There is also a lower chain guide made from bullet proof nylon (well the guy who gave me the plastic said it was ballistic grade). Hope you like. Any exposed glue (Gorilla) has now been carefully removed...it was just a belt a…
