All good, I went in to it all a bit blind, but having done it for the first time, I have no fears about doing it again, and now I know my way round the bike hopefully manage it in double quick time.

Getting into the top bolt isn't the easiest. off with the tank for me and rear wheel, tho a lot of extra stuff to do, made getting into it all much easier.

Seems to be coming from the bottom part ! However, can't get the bolt out from the bottom, it's solid, am I missing something in the removal of the bolt ?? Half way thru it now Willie for my own piece of mind, but as stated, it's coming from the bottom of the shock.

Just got myself a 2010 290, however seems the rear sussies are creeking a bit, what requiers doing to solve this and or what is causing this ?

Finally got it all stripped and cleaned today after a couple of attempts, fired up nicely after that.

Nope. The carb was overflowing this morning when I started it up, so gave if a few taps, which seemed to stop the overflow, can this be connected to my issue ?

Getting a spark. Disconnected the kill switch, still nothing.

Had the bike out today, ran it too where we were playing, say 250 yards, set it down to sort out some wee sections, went back, hasn't started since ??? Got home, changed the plug, still not starting Any ideas folks ?

I've ridden both, only a couple of sections mind, so can't really give a full report, but if I had the money, I'd plump for the 2011. I believe the early 2010 had tank issues and breather hose problems, but that's about as much as I can add on that I'm afraid
