  1. The bike fires up on second kick, turn the choke off real quick (else it will die) and get it on the throttle.Really boggy for about ten minutes or a good open throttle rev and then she's clean.

Mentioning the bike firing up on the choke, it is exactly the same on mine. I tend to start it and turn the tick over screw up slightly just so it will run comfortably by itself and dont touch it until the fan kicks in. It will be fine then.

it would be surprizing if its losing presure in the crankcase. it will be a problem with that inlet rubber. :D

  2. What a fantastic trial! the sections were superb, they wer'nt over the top at all, just right. How many trials can you ride like that in the year, 40 sections 1 lap all off road, at a venue like that? Brilliant! <_<

And a huge turnout aswell. Thanks to the Llanfyllin club for a well organised fantastic trial. Back again next year!! :P

  3. I've always use VW coolant mixed 50:50 - as advised by GasGas. Well, I've only got the Silkolene coolant at the moment - the back of the pack says it's a 50:50 ethyl/water mix. I'm presuming that means I don't need to dilute it again, it's already half the strength of VW stuff.

Bit of a duffer question eh, but if ya don't know, ya gotta ask <_<

Gaz that happens to be the stuff i re-bled my rad with. you just pour it in from the bottle as is.

  4. I like your wheels! my mate is building up a 26 with the pink wheels and matching grips!! :wall:

I'm working on building up another bike and get out back riding and doing some comps.

doughbouy, do you go to the huddersfield falcons trials?

  5. It all sounds positive so far, apart from the time to warm it up but thats nothing really. Do you know if they're gonna come with any graphics on them at all? also any ideas on the rrp?

  6. Lewis, i take it you have 7/8 (braced) bars when you say the normal 4 bolt clamps??

No. fatbars wont fit in these. The Raga clamps are well expensive. I used to run scorpa clamps and bars on me old gassers, as the clamps are much better made than the raga clamps and wont break!! and the scorpa bars are made by Magura and are SOOOOO strong! never heard of any break :D

but granted, the renthal fatbars come in nice colours :D and they are pretty much the same measurements as the 7/8 bars...

  7. yep that them bs.

I completly twisted it and snaped half of the vertical tube things on the gasgas rad in january 05 and it was absolutly fine all year. they only had it a couple of days too. fully presure tested etc before they give it you back.

  8. ... if saying the bike (Scorpa) isn't good enough for world sections caused troubles, then i think he may have been right.

dont think so! taddy seems to be having better results, so far, on the scorpa than on the gassers. Also kuroyama seems to winning everything in japan at the mo on one.

it says "agreement between both parties"....? also they are going to concentrate their time and effort on taddy. dont know wheather yamaha have had a say...

    obvious fall out over summit.

  9. I remember getting one of the very last ones ever made, for christmas back in '93 :) It had never been used.

That poor thing got some use! it got chucked down cliffs, been under water, the works - and it kept goin.

I would'nt mind getting one again for a restoration project and keeping it!! those beta and gasgas things will never be as good.

  10. It does the exact same on my 06 when starting so it presume thats normal? and have had the same problem as you but found it to be a jitsie airfilter that i ran, found it would sound like it was starving then die. ran it with the normal airfilter and has'nt done it. run it on 80ml oil to 5litres of optimax.... other than that dunno.

  11. your second point; if you flick the bearing rubber covers/seal off with a small screw driver and apply some grease directly onto the bearings ( i use copper grease) and pop the seals back on (put the bearings in the hub dry), then just put some grease onto the axle when putting the back wheel on. it just makes it easier to get it back off when you need to.

third point; depends how bad it is! a spoke is pennies but putting it on is a ball ache. you might get away with leaving it.

  12. Good to hear it Nitjay, you wont look back now. And you'll be stagered when it comes to maintenance, coz there is none!

They take a little getting used to, I'm still not 100% with mine and i've had it since january. if you try and ride it like the gassers, they dont want to be ridden like that.

If you want to know your engine is ok, download the video andy has put up of marc freixa on section 2 and listen to that rattle! :D

    smart move :wall:

  13. At our club trials, we have machine examinations and basically all they check is the brakes work, play in the levers, check spokes & wheel bearings, throttle snaps shut and your grips are'nt hanging off! thats the extent realy, same with the nationals.

as John said though; its up to the rider. :wall:
