F11 to maximise the viewing area on your screen. If any competitor wants a higher resolution image file (jpeg) than the 1024x768 on Photobucket then please pm me. No charge, gratis. The originals are at 6MP resolution so will allow some cropping; file size ~1.6MB. Best Wishes
  3. There are 2 springs for the sidestand; one fits within the other. For on line parts diagrams and numbers (LewissportUSA site): http://www.apexmotosports.com/montesa%20parts%20book/e-1.htm Part numbers 50541-MB0-000 Spring, Side Stand 97- 50542-MB0-611 Spring, Side Stand 97- I'm sure I got these from Sandifords but I couldn't find them on their website; send them an email.

    Delkevic exhaust

Re Kickstart: If you are in the UK try David Silver spares Honda Part Number 28300-KJ2-000 or without dashes 28300KJ2000 I bought one a couple of weeks ago. It doesn't come with the fixing bolt so get a GOOD quality 6mm bolt to fix it to the shaft. My original kickstart failed because the head sheared off the fixing bolt while starting the bike which then caused the kickstart body to split. That bolt was one I did not replace when I prepared the bike as the kickstart was not loose; it had probably been overtightened at some stage - lesson learned..........
  5. Thankyou for motomike. You've saved me from acquiring some RTL yokes in the off chance they would fit (seen two sets on ebay in as many months; seems a shame to break up an RTL)
  6. Turning on the flat or turning in a section? When you make a turn in a section picture where your back wheel will go and pick the line for the front wheel accordingly. If you pick a nice line in a section for your front wheel your back wheel might end up going over/into an inconvenient obstacle. There's a good example of picking a line on the new (2010) Mick Andrews DVD; he also has things to say about turning per se with examples of turning in circles, figure 8s and slaloms.
  7. Also a first timer (spectating). Plan on going by motorcycle; can anybody recommend a hotel with secure parking?
  8. I looked at Domino levers; the hole in the lever for the nipple is 10mm vs the Honda cable nipple = 8mm I also looked at Amal alloy (pattern) levers, like OEM Bultaco levers; the hole in those is 10.5mm On the plus side the slots in the cable adjusters of the Domino and the Amal (Pattern) levers are 2.9mm so the 2.5mm Honda brake cable fits. Do Domino do a lever with an 8mm hole ?
  9. re the changes from 70's to current High Boy frame see: http://www.sammymillerproducts.co.uk/792 which states "Our new High Boy Frame has been built in the same style as the original frame of the 70's. But we have sharpened the head angle a touch, by altering the fork offset by 1 1/2 degrees and lengthened the swinging arm by about an inch and a 1/4 to maintain the wheel base of 51 1/2 inches."
  10. Does anybody know (definitely) if RTL250S fork yokes can be used on a TLR200? is the stem length and diameter the same re fitting into the headstock ? is the distance between the stanchion centres the same ? is there any geometry change ? Thankyou
  11. I have seen "non gold" rims on a TL125; the later model that appears to use the same frame and wheels/hubs as a TLR200. Images here http://tl.125.free.fr/historique%20fiche%20TL%20125JD06.htm If you scroll down the page of the link there is a picture of the Frame number: JD06-5100328 (I think its a "1" ?????) The TLM uses a different type of hub(s) like an RTL so the spoking pattern may not be ideal.
  12. What are anybody's preference for aftermarket control levers? I had a pair of SM budget levers that I bought for a Cub and tried those but the hole in the lever for the nipple is much larger and the OEM Honda front brake cable is thicker than the slot in the cable adjuster. I could just stick with the original honda items but replacing them if I break them might not be strightforward. Do Domino levers work with the OEM Honda cables ? I searched the other forums and somebody recommended Suzuki RM80X levers for a Yamaha as they are readily available. In terms of cable diameter and nipple size does Yamaha=Japanese=Honda regarding compatability? Thankyou in advance.
  13. Does anybody know who is making the type of Exhaust/silencer (ha, ha) as fitted to Comerfords Cubs ? Picture below to show the type:
  14. I was Googling for motorcycle trailers. I don't think I'll be getting one of these.........
  15. This is something I've been researching recently as I am exploring ways of improving Triumph Trials Cub forks (=3TA type) for trials vs. making a set of "cartridge" forks with e.g. Fantic internals. On the subject of "cartridge" forks I recently opened up a set of Honda TLR200 forks for a rebuild and the bearing surface in those is a plastic (Nylon /?) sleeve. Instead of turning down the donor fork's aluminium sliders, why not make (or source ?) a sleeve out of a suitable nylon material? Has anybody tried it? Returning to the subject of 3TA/Triumph fork improvements I came across this article from Motorcycle Sport on this website; link below (this isn't a joke, scroll down past the gentleman in the "coalscuttle" helmet): http://showandgo.blogspot.com/2009/12/triumph-desert-sled-fork-mods.html ......up to 8 inches of travel in a Triumph fork! All very interesting but quite involved. Maybe somebody could tell us what fork components Sammy Miller used on the batch of Trials Cubs he created (mid 90's ?)? I remember a test of his Trials Cub conversion in a magazine and when SM was asked what components were in the forks he wasn't forthcoming. Around that time I was at an auction in Cornwall hoping to get a Kriedler 50cc Racer. SM was there and outbid everybody on the Kriedler and every C15 and Cub in the hall as well to supply his production line.

    Honda Tl200 Build

Some useful info for building a 200 motor here: http://vincentcrabtree.co.uk/XR200.aspx
  18. ....and another one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HONDA-RTL250S-HRC-TRIALS-1986-RTL250-RTL-250-/320602714842?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item4aa56932da Is the barrel on the "barn find" from a TLR250 ? Its got a "cutaway" fin (2nd from top).
